Trang-Oul is important, Trang-Oul deserves more respect Posted: 19 May 2021 07:03 AM PDT Everybody freaks about Diablo! Baal! Lilith!Rathma! Inarius! But i feel that they are all just pawns to the Master behind everything that has been going on... Trang-Oul and i think it would be a shame if the franchise keeps mispelling the most important character. It's Trang-Oul not Trag-Oul Trang-Oul is the cosmic dragon of Balance, the other cosmic dragon known being Tathemet, the corrupted side of Anu I feel that Trang-Oul is seeking to regain perfect balance in creation and this would be to reform Anu as whole. What greatest Necromancy feat to revive the God of creation thats why i think Trang-Oul is the most Important character in All Diablo That story/hypothesis aside Why Trang-Oul over Trag-Oul? Why is there even 2 spelling? The real and original name is Trang-Oul, thats what its been called in Diablo 2 since its first time we saw the name In reality, Trag-Oul is a typo... lol In the Game manual, the person who was in charge of it Typod " Trag-Oul" missing the "n". Remember that we are in 2000, those are paper pamphlets that come with the game. But was Trang-Oul ingame and never got changed, showing its their willing spelling Later the person they hired to write the Sin war novels probably never played Diablo 2 and just looked at the player manual and saw Trag-Oul and assumed it was right So they wrote the whole sin wars novels by copying a Typo... they printed physical novels with Typos. Blizzard being Blizzard, instead of admitting and Owning their error, decided to embrace it and Typo it as well in Diablo 3 Its like if The person in charge of writing LOTR movie Script referred to the blurb (back of the book) and Bilbo was mispelled "Dildo" and he then proceeded to write the whole movie as "Dildo the hobbit" So in the end, Trang-Oul is the real name and i hope Blizzard has enough respect to the source material to revert it back to its original spell for Diablo 4 especially if it plays an important role. D4 Devs said they wanted to learn from past mistaken and go back to the root, this would be a nice start haha Edit: http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/sets/sets7.shtml#trangouls

What kind of end game activities would you like to see in D4? Posted: 18 May 2021 10:02 PM PDT Would you like for bounties to return? Greater rifts with endless difficulty? Or a difficulty set in stone like in D2? [link] [comments]
I don't like seasonal progress resets and I don't want to see them in D4. Posted: 19 May 2021 07:59 PM PDT I'm not sure if I'm an exception here so this is as much just an expression of my opinion, as it is a question to others, but I really dislike that seasons in D3 or leagues in poe reset all your progress, but I do like the new content/mechanics. Now, I know these games are meant and built to work that way. The progression is relatively fast especially in D3, so reset is kinda needed. But I fundamentally dislike seasonal progress resets. I dislike that design philosophy. I think it's lazy. I think it's detrimental to the game and makes progression of your character meaningless. I would rather have a much slower progression which by itself to me as a fan of RPGs feels more immersive, important and meaningful. This would imo allow D4 to not have hard progress resets, and instead simply introduce the new content that seasons would normally introduce. Some resets would still need to happen, for example with expansions. Usually when a game introduces an expansion, there's effectively a gear reset and an economy reset (to some degree), but you do not lose your progress. I want to be attached to my character. Why would I chase after some extremely rare drops, if my character will be deleted next season? Why would I play a game which can never be completed? Can you imagine doing Holy Grail or really any form of completionism in D2 if there were seasons that reset all your progression? I also think slow progression without resets can allow much deeper interactions with all the game's systems. Itemization for example - We know Blizzard won't *really* make it complex/interesting enough for most of us. I bet you'll just go through the game, speedrun to max level, equip whatever has a higher attack/defense value without even looking at it, and quickly transition into all your items being legendary, and only then, at max level you'll actually care about your gear, because leveling is that fast. If progression was slower, it would make you care about every drop and item quality you get. I suppose I would be fine if the progress reset happened at the start of each expansion if people deem resets necessary due to some possible problems, economy issues, power creep etc.. but I'd still would rather not have resets at all. Imo it's not the problem of the idea of not having resets, it's a problem of game designers who can't design a good progression system without a reset. Tbf it might all be because I simply love good RPGs, it's my favourite genre and I consider character development, identity, customization and progression in those games to be by far the best. I'm used to it. Ironically, I hate MMOs, I'm really mad about D4 not having a full singleplayer mode, and yet I played many MMORPGs by trying to pretend it's a singleplayer game, simply because the character progression and identity is closer to RPGs. And MMORPGs tend to have so much content, items, collectables, activities, progression systems, etc to really keep you playing for a long time, and make you attached to your character. That's the only aspect of MMOs that I like. Well it's not really an aspect of MMOs, it's an aspect of RPGs that MMORPGs adopted. So basically, I hate progress resets, I wish progression would be much deeper, slower and more meaningful and interesting, but seasons with progression resets make that impossible. Posted: 19 May 2021 05:04 PM PDT I haven't played Diablo in a while. But when I created a new season character today and started playing it seem like it was zoomed in more than it used to be. Did they change this in the last 6 to 8 months? Or is there a setting I can get into now that I am missing? Maybe I'm crazy but it seems zoomed in now. Thanks all! [link] [comments]

I would really like to see Diablo4 come out as a mmoArpg* with a Faction system Posted: 19 May 2021 05:17 AM PDT INB4 people freak out by the term MMO associated with Diablo4, please read I really Hope Diablo4 is made into some kind of Cross-Breed between ARPG and MMo, should i say, stay a ARPG hack'n slash but borrow a MMO mechanic to empower its endgame Pretty sure that was the original plan for D3 by blizzard North Its still a full-on ARPG gameplay but with faction system for the endgame Humanity VS Heaven VS Hell Playing the storyline, you are face with choices that makes you choose between Lilith, Inarius or Rathma. Finishing the Storyline you are Reborn as an Angel or a Demon or get revived as nephalem(previously just a human) by Rathma. This would give good replayability to the storyline by having 3 paths, give cool looks to characters and create a justified neverending endgame Fight to gain control over towns and areas. The logic behind this could be like the existance of Harrogath. With Lilith's uprising, world stone shard(giant ones) scattered all over Sanctuary are being the main target of Power Seekers. Fortresses are being built around them to protect them from falling into enemy camp Having control of a WorldStone fortress could grant buffs to its faction members while doing quests in surrounding areas. Players could contribute to the fortress's power by financing it with ressources, making the guarding monsters stronger, creating a natural ressource sink for the game. They could even defend it themself in special event They already said they wanted to make it a Massive open world, this would take full benefit of it. There would obviously still be normal dungeon crawling, you could play the game without even caring about this mechanic. The only difference would be that Those fortress grant Shrine like buffs to allies on a certain radius on the map, its basically a Tug-o-war for faction buffs Its still a traditional "Clear dungeons get loot" arpg, but its just a flavourful twist to it. It could also be a good pretext to have pvp ingame. The "Faction" system taken from MMOs is just there as a justification for the endgame repetitive grind, it turns the players into the "Eternal Conflict" mode https://youtu.be/IBAKjviBElo?t=249 even Tyrael talks about the hero choosing a side edit: Curious as to why people are so angry at this, its not like those haters reply explaining their point lol [link] [comments] |
