everyone thinks of deckard cain as some nice old man Posted: 28 Mar 2021 05:27 PM PDT who congratulates you for your "amazing finds" but consider this: he's sitting in a cage waiting for you to "rescue" him, only to open a portal that he had on him the whole time and doesn't even keep it open for you. the man is pure sarcastic bitch. "wowwww, what a treasure you have there in that horadric cube, what a hero, you beat andariel on normal congrats" jesus [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Mar 2021 01:49 AM PDT How many of you have heard Matt Mercer's Deckard Cain? It's absolutely astonishing. I have a finely tuned ear, and I can hardly detect any difference in tone or rhythm. Have a listen: [link] [comments]
So how do you guys think the alpha keys recipients for D2R will be selected? Posted: 28 Mar 2021 11:49 AM PDT A lottery? Or perhaps some sort of merit based system? I've simply logged into my battle.net account, clicked to opt in for the alpha and that was that. No additional questions asked. Do regular Joes like me have a chance at getting the alpha key? Posted: 28 Mar 2021 10:07 AM PDT Everybody playing path of Diablo, project Diablo2, median, Annihilus, HellUnleashed, etc have extended the life and popularity of this awesome game, they have kept it alive and growing, evolving, staying Diablo2 while getting modern qol and balance These tens of thousands people are the reason Diablo2 is still a hot game rather than a Cold poop, they are the target, much more than the hundreds that play on bnet among the thousands of bots [link] [comments]

Important Questions I still have about D2:R Posted: 28 Mar 2021 04:44 PM PDT 1) How will the Annihilus Charm be handled? I expect the same as before, mechanically, but... is the behind the scenes architecture still the same? Are there still going to be X servers with Y static IPs to pool SoJ sales on? Is D2 easy enough to serve that literally everything is going to be on one or two IPs? Will the process have any changes? 2) Multiple Accounts. Back in the day, I had many accounts; accounts were free. It was the actual client that required the unique CD Key to run. I had a single account that was 8 unique paladin builds, and three for storing junk items I sold for P. Gems. Many accounts, dozens of characters. How is this going to operate in today's environment? 3) Multiple Clients. Aside from making it exponentially safer to mule if you could just run a secondary client, I got into the habit of rushing all of my own mules to the Hell Hellforge. Is this going to be possible in D2:R? I assume it'll be as simple as requiring a second license. Additionally - are Accounts and Clients still going to be separate as they were originally? 4) Bugs! My initial thought was that all bugs that exist today will likely exist moving forward too. But then there was that patch in, what... 2016? The one that fixed the "Ith" items, or some such. That kind of puts forth precedent for fixing some easy and obvious bugs, like ebug'd armor. Or some more interesting ones like "forbidden skills" and fused uniques. 5) The character sheet. Is this changing at all? I always remembered that panel being referred to as the "LCS" - the Lying Character Sheet - because it didn't really reflect damage numbers accurately at all. I know there are updates to the panel so it has far more stats, like totaling your Magic Find, but accurate damage numbers and whatnot might be neat! 6) The economy. This is perhaps the thing I am most interested in because of how everything has changed since 2000. Slow forum trade pages are going to be replaced with Discord servers and community trading apps, I've no doubt. But also, there aren't going to be hundreds of thousands of duped runes floating around to lower the rarity and trade value of these things. But, there also is the chance that there will be more people playing Diablo 2 this time around than ever before, flooding the market with more items while simultaneously increasing demand. Is there willingness, post launch, to tweak things if necessary? 7) The future. There will already be D2:R Classic and D2:R LoD - I would pay money for an eventual D2:R Beyond that just adds more toys to play with; more Runewords, more Uniques, more events, etc. This isn't a question. I just love the idea of even a Diablo 2: "Neverwar" sort of expansion that is completely outside canon as an excuse for more. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Mar 2021 04:42 PM PDT Hello, this is a really mundane question, nothing about the gameplay but it's been really bugging me since I first heard it last night. What's the song that sometimes plays in Reaper of Souls campaign with the loud bell every few seconds for probably the whole song? [link] [comments]

Account deletion in D2 makes me never want to purchase D2:R. Posted: 28 Mar 2021 09:39 PM PDT Pretty crazy that after years on that game and with probably 4k hours you could lose it all because Blizzard doesnt want to shell out 10 cents per person worth of server space so they delete entire accounts. I hadn't logged on in a year or so. Such things happen when your life priorities change as you age. The D2:R hype had me jonesing to hop on for a bit... maybe refamiliarize myself before starting the experience over with new friends with their remaster. But seeing all my progress deleted soured me so much that I dont think I could possibly put myself in the same situation 3 years from now. Imagine doing all this over again just to have it deleted again. Account deletion was a boneheaded move by Blizzard and feels like a kick in the nuts. I refuse to support this software equivalent of planned obsolescence. [link] [comments]
What kinds of achievements and trophies do you expect for D2R? Posted: 28 Mar 2021 05:07 AM PDT Obviously there's gonna be story/chapter based ones, probably some hardcore and pvp based ones too, but what sorts of feats or secret trophies would you expect? [link] [comments]

Unpopular opinion: Couch co-op D3 on console/switch is pretty damn fun Posted: 28 Mar 2021 12:53 AM PDT As someone who played since Diablo 1, I am torn on this issue. Hear me out - I dislike many, many of the decisions made for D3. This game never lived up to its true potential BUT Holy shit the couch co-op man. I dropped by a buddy's place today and he pulled out his PS4 Diablo 3 Eternal Collection. I've played the hell out of D3 seasons already so I wasn't exactly keen but the other guys wanted to try it out So we loaded up D3 and... we actually had fun. Lots and lots of fun. We rushed all the way to Belial and we were just yelling and cheering as we ran around, dodging attacks and dying etc. All in all I haven't had this much excitment with any Diablo title in a very long time. And this is why I am torn. As said, I hate how D3 turned the game casual. Yet, I can also see how doing so opens the game to a whole new audience and type of gameplay Anyway I am just rambling. I don't truly know what I want for the future of D4, whether it be the "PC first and foremost" approach like D2, or to be like D3 where it can be casual and fun for an afternoon of couch co-op What are your thoughts?
