| Does anyone care about the story/lore anymore? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 01:50 PM PDT I've loved Diablo since I was a little kid, watching my dad play the original on our Windows 98 PC. As I got older, I played 1 and 2 constantly. However, what drew me into the series more than anything else was always its story. I remember spending a good amount of time reading the flavor text included in the manuals, and I loved the whole "Angels and Demons fighting an eternal war over creation" aspect. However, these days I wonder how many people actually pay attention to the lore. Am I part of a dying breed here? I know I'm likely in the minority, but I am curious as to who finds the story as fascinating as I do. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:20 PM PDT It got pretty old during the story or Diablo 3 to hear terrible dialogue by antagonists saying things like "YOU'LL NEVER DEFEAT ME!" Could there be a more lazy form of writing than the dialogue in D3? It was so basic and childish that it felt like a Saturday morning cartoon. I kept waiting for every boss to say "and I would've gotten a way with it too! If it weren't for you pesky Nephalem!" Also, can someone tell Blizzard and subtly is a thing? If everything is glowing and spiky and bloody and loud, then nothing leaves an impact. I think they need to play Dark Souls a few thousand times and take some notes on subtle story telling, world building and what actual darkness and despair look like. Thanks for coming to my ted talk. That's exactly what I just did, beating the original game for the first time in years. The epilogue is hopeful, talking about your journey into the East to find salvation, and praying you can keep Diablo at bay. Only...it's all for nothing. Because the hero didn't even make it out of Khanduras before Diablo took over his will. And then Tristram was destroyed a week later. Kinda sad when you think about it. I do wonder though, if this was the original intent when designing Diablo 2. Does anyone remember that very early trailer that has the Wanderer talking about his journey? Saying that his future trials were going to be even more difficult? Maybe we were originally going to pick up where the original left off, and play as our original hero. | Posted: 09 Jun 2020 05:06 PM PDT I'm looking for a new game for my friends and I on Xbox one. Diablo looks a lot of fun however, I'm not exactly sure what I'll be getting for 20$. Is this a game where I'll be playing tons of content with one character, or will I be playing the same campaign over and over with multiple characters? I'm up for either if the gameplay is awesome. Also, my friends and I enjoy a challenge. I've heard this game can be pretty easy? Please let me know about the challenge of the game. | Can you have multiple saves on Diablo on PS1? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 10:59 AM PDT I recently got a copy of Diablo 1 on PS1 and have been playing solo but am about to play with a friend tonight. I noticed theres options for multiple character saves, but theres only one master save for each memory card. So if we use the character saves will we be able to load back to where we were? So to clear things out: it stil would have the 1:30 timer but only activates eben you kill one enemy. This would fix the 150 Support solo and in Edition would give players a Lot more controll.
