Diablo Every class in D4 should have its own "Dodge Roll" ability

Every class in D4 should have its own "Dodge Roll" ability

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 10:34 AM PDT

Currently every character class in D4 uses Evade, which is like a side-step to get out of something like a Molten Explosion or a heavy hit. It also causes the character to recover from that move for ~0.5 seconds before another ability or another Evade can be used.

I don't know how similar this is to the console version of D3, but I wanna get at something else.

What if each character class had its own unique Evasion Ability?

    For example:

    • a Barbarian could have something like a Tackle that maybe even knockbacks enemies (or maybe this knockback could be gained by spending points into a passive skill)
    • a Sorcerers could have Blink, which is like a short ranged Teleport (there still would be the long ranged Teleport from your active skills)
    • a Druid could have Lunge, which transform him into a beast, like a werewolf who lunges a few yards

Now just to have some fun with this, here are some ideas for Evasion Abilities for some theoretical character classes:

    • A Ranger could have either a mini-vault, a dodge-roll or a short term sprinting ability
    • A Paladin/Crusader could have something of a twist on the idea of an Evasion Ability, like a Defender Stance, where he holds his shield in front of him and takes xx% less damage, but he can't attack
    • A summoner like a Necromancer could maybe get an Evasion Ability where he briefly turns into a ghost so he takes no damage and also can movie through enemies, but also can't attack.

    etc...

I think that would be cool if every class had its own Evasion Ability, because it would give each class more flavor.

What do you think? Other ideas for class specific Evasion Abilities?

And here is a small Bonus Idea: what if there would be a separate resource that is only used by your Evasion Ability? That way you could not use it all the time, but then we could also get rid of the "recovery-time" or interrupt that you have to take from the Evasion in the current version of D4.

    Low Paragon push

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 03:11 PM PDT

People often whining about how high paragon people are higher in Ranks

so i searched for low Paragon clears you should clear close to before posting next time.

    • Barbarian - GR129 - 1273 Paragon
    • Demon Hunter - GR123 - 1422 Paragon
    • Monk - GR128 - 1352 Paragon
    • Witch Doctor - GR134 - 1491 Paragon
    • Wizard - GR130 - 1451 Paragon
    • Crusader - GR133 - 1518 Paragon
    • Necromancer - GR125 - 1381 Paragon

I missed the opportunity to search this earlier, now the people have higher paragon then 1 or 2 weeks ago and their clears are missing.

Witch Doctor Mundunugu Spirit Barrage Solo Push Guide Season 20 (Patch 2.6.8) Diablo 3

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 07:30 AM PDT

Has it always been like this?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 07:18 PM PDT

A bit about me. I played a little single player D1, skipped D2 and then came into D3 from vanilla and played almost all the way to the current season. As with almost all games I play, I sort of start playing the basics and learn the fundamentals through understanding skills and how they synergize, as it is with the new legendaries and sets that have been released through various seasons.

I'm also active in the PC NA server communities for Reddit/Monk/Witch Doctor and I've noticed that the trend for things is always asking really basic questions. I try to help whenever I can since I kinda understand how things work, how the classes work or why certain passives or certain items are used, or why certain stat rolls are preferred, but after all these years of helping out in the community, some things really stick out to me, and here is where my questions come in

Has Diablo always been a game whereby

    1. People hop into the game and just expect everything handed to them? Literally seeing people asking for powerlevels, and then looking to leech "to get basic set gear" and then "looking for high GR leech". I don't really know if there is anything else left to play after this.
    2. People who have reasonably high paragon and even hours played in their char but have absolutely no idea what they're playing? i.e. Simply copying the LB/diablofans/icyveins builds, without knowing why a certain decision is made with gearing/skills/passive. I have always wondered this, and I guess after helping a P1100 WD with 45 hours played in WD alone this season when he/she asked a really basic question about his setup.

I'm just genuinely curious if that was how D1 and D2 was.

Squirts necklace and unity vs. endless walk set for mun. WD?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 02:15 PM PDT

With squirts necklace and unity it seams like you get both the damage and damage reduction that endless walk set has, but you get both at once. Since you're trying not to take any damage anyway,(in high grift levels) the increased damage taken from squirts isn't really an issue. What say you?

    Character Class Speculation

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 01:05 PM PDT

After watching Rhykkers speculatory video on the missing Diablo 4 classes, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gNaGeE-Ehg) I think the answers to the class discussion are right in front of us, let's take a look back at the Diablo 4 reveal trailer.

We obviously have a barbarian in the trailer, but are lacking a sorcerer and druid that stand out. What does that leave us with? A witch doctor looking/sounding character that continually mentions his "eternal light", and a strong swashbuckling thief character with a lot of flavor to him as well (the one who gets left behind at the beginning)

I believe the swashbuckling man will be the inspiration for the variation of the rogue class, and possibly the black intelligent character be the inspiration for the missing other class, not exactly sure what it'd be. It sounds like it would have something to do with holy magic/summoning though; a very intelligent character archetype. Possibly a holy summoner who has learned how to conjure demons through his research into evil.

Fist of the Heavens %Dmg question

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 08:54 AM PDT

If I'm stacking FotH damage percentages across gear, does it simply add up to one larger percentage, or is it multiplicative at all?

For example: I have the entire valor set - 20,000% Incr Dmg

    *Crown of Valor (14% ID)

    *Greaves of Valor (15% ID)

    *Darklight (864%ID)

    *Khasset's Cord (168% ID)

Is the total of these 21,061%, or is it calculated differently?

How do rubies contribute to toughness on Int-focused chars?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 12:25 PM PDT

Looking at some LoD build overviews for WD and Wizard, i have seen recommendations to transition from socketing Diamonds to Rubies in pants and chest pieces to increase toughness when Grift pushing. I cannot see how this would be a benefit as it boosts the Strength stat. Would anyone be able to shed some light on this?

I got both a Primal Kridershot and Bombardier's Rucksack within an hour of each other.

What do I do now? Pushing GR 75+ atm with the Shadow Impale build, so it just feels kinda bad atm.

Best GR Pushing specs/build as Barb/Monk/Wizard trio? Advice needed

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 05:56 AM PDT

Anyone care to share some advice on how we can make this trio composition work as best as possible?

My friends and I are new to diablo endgame, we've followed some gear and spec guides for our individual characters, but we don't know how to best optimize our specs for the best synergy possible.

FWIW we are playing seasonal hardcore sitting at around 105GR. We'd like to climb as high up on the leaderboard as possible given our comp.

Appreciate any advice from seasoned d3 vets!

Hey Blizzard want to print money? Do what you did with SC2 and reskin Diablo 2.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 10:51 AM PDT

Not sure why this has not been done yet. SC2 plays just like the first and its great. Simply reskin Diablo 2 and release it. You would be printing money because everyone would buy it. It would cost minimal resources as the story and art is already there to take from.

Make it happen. Make that money and give us what we actually fucking want.
