    So I introduced my Wife to D3. . .

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 07:26 AM PST

So background - she's not a huge gamer, but I told her about how we could play as a team while relaxing in bed and how the Diablo series was huge to me growing up, so she decides to give it a try.

We started playing yesterday, and she seems super into it (she made a Barb), but I was waiting to see just -how- into it.

This morning we wake up around 7ish, she rolls over and is like, "You wanna play Diablo before you have to work? I'll make coffee."

    I think she's hooked.

Couch co-op Diablo is great for relationships. 💯

I hope they go back to D2 gear art style

I hope we get some more realistic 3D rendered item icons like in D2 and in PoE2, in Diablo 4.

And that we don't use the cartoony style like in D3.

Here is a image i made to remind you how they look ;)

    EDIT. Made a better image.

Why Diablo 2 Holds Up Almost 20 Years Later

I just want a Haedrig pet

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 02:07 PM PST

I would love a Haedrig pet, even as a seasonal completion reward (Like this season's Tyrael Treasure Goblin). The most important part with the Haedrig pet would be that he doesn't Auto-pick up gold... He auto salvages all White, Blue, and Yellow drops, and picks up crafting mats automatically.

    That's all.

    Flash on hit

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 02:44 AM PST

Ive seen the other posts about this and i wanna give it my own take, also the more talking about it gives a higher chance of getting a change.

To start, when i watched the demo streams and trailers first time i did not care too Much about it since i did not focus on it.

But going back now and watching gameplay thats all i see, the flashing. I dont believe it Will fit this dark theme they are going for with diablo 4. It kinda destroys the atmosphere for me, i know some people really do enjoy the flashings and they already coded it so i dont think they should remove it. Its great for players who maybe want to see more clearly what they hit and when they do.

But, why not make the flashing the standard option and add an additional option to remove it? If not removing it all the way, You could just make the outline of the monsters flash or something similar? Best case we would get a full animation of the monsters to show we are hiting them, might be too Much?

I think this game is shaping up to be something amazing, but between all the other feedbacks about items and so on, i think this is what i really would like to see getting a change.

Edit: thx for the primal award mate!

Blizzard Should Do Belial and Azmodan Justice in Diablo IV

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 07:00 PM PST

Duriel and Andariel were executed relatively well in Diablo II. Andariel is a master manipulator who corrupted the rogues into merciless killing machines. The remaining uncorrupted rogues were forced to kill their own sisters, knowing that deep inside, they were once their comrades. Duriel on the other hand is the most traumatizing boss, with little space and nowhere to run.

In Diablo III, the build up of Belial and Azmodan is laughable. There is limited suspense or horror, just predictable motives. I think they must return in Diablo IV so that they can be properly portrayed.

To be fair, the aspects the two represent (deception and sin) are the tamest and not at all traumatizing compared to the other evils (terror, hatred, destruction, anguish, and pain). Consequently, they are the most diverse and versatile, able to appeal to the human psyche, like how sin exploits one's desire and how one may use denial to create a sense of comfort and safety from the harsh reality of life.

One thing I want is that they should not become killable bosses. They should instead work behind the scenes in corrupting humanity. I think they should take the greatest champions of humanity (maybe awakened Nephalem) and pit them against humanity itself, not fighting the player directly.

It's best if the two are allied. Based on lore, the victims of anguish feed pain and vice versa. The powerhouse of Hell itself originates from hate begetting destruction, and destruction begetting terror that then begets hate in a self-perpetuating cycle. The aspects of Belial and Azmodan pay homage to the Garden of Eden, when the first sin (eating of the forbidden fruit) came from the first lie (the serpent), thus banishing mankind from paradise and into a world of toil and suffering.

I need help with running Diablo 3 at ultra low settings.

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 02:35 PM PST

At the moment I am in the process of moving, which means I won't have access to my desktop for the next week. I have therefor been forced to play the season on an old mac laptop with a Sandybridge intel i7 from 2011, unfortunately it's paired with a intel 3000 gfx chip. This chip shares memory with ram iirc, but luckily I bought 8 GB ram back in 2011 when I bought the machine. At first I thought the machine couldn't run the game, but after some tinkering following this guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/510cqh/ultra_low_settings_for_d3/ I edited the d3prefs file, and the game now runs at 25 fps in 800x600 windowed mode. Is there anything ells I can lower in the d3prefs file, other then what's mentioned in that guide, so that I can get above 30 fps? Any help is greatly appreciated. This is only a temporary solution until I have finished moving.

Why is the bottom of all the player banner shapes brown??

Why is the bottom of all of the banner shapes brown?

    https://i.gyazo.com/0ce043392830065490880f7a916bdb61.png

    I've tried googling and can see that other players have black or dark blue on their bottom, but can't find any info on how to change it ;-;
Does it have to do with your level or something?
Or will it just remain brown unless I unlock a cooler banner shape later on? Brown is an awful design choice on their part imo lol~

    I don't want the brown haha ;w;

What is the best way to play Diablo II right now? Please recommend vanilla+ mods.

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 11:42 AM PST

I just bough the eternal collection for ps4, discovering now the franchise.

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 11:21 PM PST

So after i saw the diablo 4 trailer and gameplay i felt truly interested in this franchise like never before, im not into blizzard games at all and i had never play wow or almost heard not at all about diablo, so i decided to give it a try and man, this game is great and it seems that diablo 4 is about to be more dark/hardcore aestetic and gameplay, glad to be part of this comunity now! Extremly fun to play, one of those gem games you found or discover every few years

Pd: its normal that the game is so easy? I started to play on normal dificultty cause i though this games mechanics are to deep and complex to dive in without practice or knwoledge, but its seems not, i play as a necro and i completly destroy anything in my way withou almost getting hit, i change the difficulty to expert and quite the same, maybe its just the act 1 and later i will get raped? I dunno

    Sunwoko Set Dungeon

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 06:53 AM PST

Anyone else having issues with Sunwoko set dungeon mastery this season? It's almost like the Vengeful Wind weapon increase (stacks and damage) are killing off mobs too quickly for the decoys to kill them. I'm consistently getting 8-12 killed in large packs.

    Any tips?

    Attributes

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 06:01 AM PST

    Attributes

So, since it's hard to post pictures in the Diablo3 forum, i am creating this post here.

It's a suggestion for an attribute system and a bigger skilltree. Let's start.

As David Kim mentioned, itemization is important and should include meaningful choices. That also affects character development and point allocations. As we all know, these were pretty poorly implemented in Diablo3. What we have seen yet, for Diablo4, was much better. However, there is still no attribute system to spend points per level.

Many people criticise the attribute system from Diablo2, for it's forcing behavior, to only reach the item requirements of STR and DEX and to put the rest of the points in VIT. Which is indeed not optimal but actually just a matter of balancing.

In his new update about itemization, David Kim introduced us to the concept of the 3 power stats: Angelic, Demonic and Ancestral. A cool idea, but a concerning implementation, as it's locking basic affixes and stats away and forces players to unlock them, rather than going for the powers passives.

An other user in the forum made a suggestion, to bring back a real attribute system, including the old attributes, together with the 3 new powers. Being able to spend points in them and unlocking passive skills, when reaching certain breakpoints, I like this idea a lot, so i tried to put something together.

The stats themselves are still rather basic but changed a bit. But that's just my interpretation.

Strength provides melee damage and physical resistance, which makes sense in my opinion.

Dexterity provides defense rate, ranged damage and critical hit chance (be careful with this one of course).

Intelligence provides magic damage and casting speed.

Vitality provides maximum health and health regeneration (should not be too much, to prevent the D3 situation).

Now i have to switch to another topic for a second. The resources. In my opinion, there should be exactly 2 resources, that are shared between all playable characters. Mana for magic skills and stamina for physical skills. There might be some skills that also require both resources. That won't be a problem eighter and can lead to interesting builds. These 2 resources should differ form another a bit. I think, stamina would have a faster regeneration and mana would have a larger pool. Now that we have 2 resources for every char, it's much easier to work with them and include them in skills and items.

Energy provides maximum mana and mana regeneration.

Stamina provides maximum stamina and reduces the physical skill costs.

    Angelic increases buff duration.

    Demonic increases debuf duration.

    Ancestral increases proc chances.

Now the idea is, that there are passive skills, that you can activate, with reaching certain breakpoints. They are always a classic attribute and a power. As shown in the picture, you can see those passive skills and plan your attribute allocations and gear, to reach the passive skills of your choice. They should always fit the theme of these attributes.

For example, vitality and demonic power would activate a life leech passive.

Energy and angelic would activate a mana shield.

Most of these points should be gained through leveling and spending points. Items should provide a maximum of 20-30, with max level gear, depending on balance. So lets say 1/5 max. of course you should be able to respec attribute points, to make min maxing possible with this system. It should be cheap enough, to undo a few points, if you find a new item and have to adjust the points to the new situation. But it should be expensive enough, to prevent people from switching their whole builds regularly. It could eihter cost money, experience or farmable items (PoE orbs of regret) to undo single points in this system.

I really like this idea, because it brings back, attributes and points to spend and it also allows to make a lot of interesting build decisions.

Of course, to make this system work, levels and points HAVE to be capped and may not be infinite!

    https://preview.redd.it/345y1wbam7341.jpg?width=10240&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8039d131af852f64dc27b07d01d865899740ed53

Now that we have another way to spend points, we should look at the skills and talents. Spending points is fun, but when it becomes too much, new players will get confused. Since I don't really enjoy the active skill lineup, because it reminds me of Diablo3, a lot, I came up with the idea, to forge the talent tree and the active skills together.

In my interpretation, you would go down the passive tree and can spend points into active skills, when you reach their position. There is only 1 kind of points to spend and you can decide, if you want to spend points into passive or active skills. This offers a lot more variety to the skill system and lets player decide, if they want to max out a lot of active skills or rather activate as many passives as possible and only run with a small lineup of actives.

Again, respecs would need to cost a certain amount of money, exp, items, to prevent abuse of this system.

Update: So i was thinking about it and it could be a problem, that the breakpoints are too high and players would just chase them, only specing into 2 attributes, the whole game, which could be bad. So there should definitely be a mid tier breakpoint for all of these passives, at about half of the points, so you can decide if you want to spec into other attributes or if you wanna go to the fullest.

    F.e.

    VIT: 20, DEM: 25 -> 15% life leech

    VIT: 40, DEM: 50 -> 30% life leech

    https://preview.redd.it/hhxo5ojim7341.jpg?width=674&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b9aab192ea4e41e8b0b546d018c667cbbf5a823

I hope, this is inspiring and helpful in some way.

So we play a ton, and we haven’t seen Treasure Goblins in the Nephalem Rift in forever.

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 09:45 AM PST

Diablo III Did something change recently? My man and I play a ton and used to see goblins pretty consistently. But now that we almost have nothing left to do after getting every hardcore character every set and all paragon points we really just wanted to go after Pets in the Nephalem and farm Greater Rifts after for drops. But we haven't seen any Goblins in FOREVER. Like there had to of been a drastic change somewhere and it sucks. If we do see a goblin it's always the generic Treasure Goblin. And they give jack. We could use the blood shards and pets and other nice things they drop, so where did they all go??? Are they only in the wild and caves exclusively or? Thanks in advance!
