    Blizzard, please clarify attack and defense

    The new "stat" "attack and defense" keeps posing new questions.

    People have different opinions about, what it actually means and i think, you should explain it.

    I think, there are 3 different cases, that are possible:

    1:

    In this case, it would simply mean, you renamed "damage" and "armor" to "attack" and "defense".

    The concern here is, that attack speed is still, entirely missing from the weapon card.

    I would personally prefer this case, because it would make most sense for the current state of item design.

    You would just have to add an option, to switch from the casual view to the detailed view, that shows the damage value and the attack speed, separately.

    In this case, it would be the "same", as in Diablo 3 and the attack and defense would show all stats and affixes, calculated together. But also, the original damage, attack speed/armor value would be missing from the item card.

    It would be the "best" option for new players, because they would not have to do any maths, when choosing their items. But if you choose this option, it would make no sense, to remove attack/defense from jewelery and armors/weapons, because they can all also have offensive/defensive affixes. But thats a very unlikely case in my opinion. Since, before the update, you showed jewelery, that had no single offensive or defensive affixes and skill gave the item attack and defense stats.

    So i think, it will be case 2.

    However, i really don't think thats necessary.^^

    With trying to simplify things, that need no simplification at all, you further confused people.

    In an interview, David Kim said something like: "When you have an item that says "+100 damage" or "+10% damage", you would not have to do the maths and it would just show you the outcome"

    I have never seen any item, that had a stat like "+10% damage" instead of just flat damage value and attack speed. If this is your only reason for the "attack and defense" stats, you can really just get rid of it and return to the good old damage and armor value.

    Please get a bit clearer about this topic.

    Alternative to surface pro?

    Hello, I've been playing d3 on the lowest settings on a Microsoft surface pro2 over 4g with zero issues for a while now.

    The surface pro is a bit too big for me to easily carry around at work. Apart from a Switch, are there any other tablets that are 10inch or smaller that would be able to handle d3, and the potential to handle d4 when it comes out?

    I have a pc at home, hence why I'd like to be able to play on the same account whilst I'm commuting / working. If it was cross platform I'd probably buy a switch.

    Update For DevilutionX - Diablo On Android.

    Firstly, I would like to take time thank the blizzard team for making this game. Blizzard is truly a company that embodies the gaming community. This project is primary just a way to keep this classic alive and stand as a tribute to the Blizzard North team.

    To Play

    1. Download From Git hub link https://github.com/Jimmy-cell/wip-devilutiondroid

    2. Copy images from androidimageinto /sdcard/.

    3. Move diabdat.mpq(has to be lowercase name) to /sdcard/

    If you don't want to compile Install The Release

    YOU MUST OWN THE GAME IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK!

    The team will be making other updates soon like resolution expansion and other things like video playback and multiplayer.

    The game was made for 1920x1080 screen resolution. It should work on other resolutions, but I haven't tested or have many test participants. So please give me test data should you have them.

    Basic Controls:

    Touch on the dpad to move the hero.

    Touch the Demon to use health potion or rejuvenation potion.

    Touch The Angel to heal mana.

    The Attack button (sword) auto targets enemies ,engages to talk and opens doors and chests. Sometimes you will need to select a object with the cursour and select the attack button

    The Cast button (Flame Icon) Auto target.

    How does multiplayer boss farming work?

    So i recently got my friend whos never touched a diablo game to play through 2 with me which ive only ever played single player, we got up to tristram and it just got me wondering, i tend to farm stealth armor before going off to act 2 but im not sure how resetting bosses online would work, same goes for baal and every other evil respectively, is it as simple as just getting him to reconnect to my game or is there more to it?

    I have been a Diablo fan for a very long time. In fact, I once met David Brevik in a Costco and he smiled when I "accidentally" bumped into him. I'm basically on the team. While I enjoyed D3, it lost its allure after the first 300 hours. By hour 4000, I was pretty bored.

    In light of Diablo IV coming through the pipes, I just wanted to voice a few concerns advice as a seasoned Diablo veteran since I'm clearly more of an authority on the matter than them.

    So, in Diablo IV, I would like to see the following:

    • More Diablo 2-like itemization
    • Kanai's sphere (which takes the stats from items like how the cube takes legendary effects)
    • Darker graphics to where I need to boost the gamma through 3rd party software
    • Tyrael's brother, Steve, in Sanctuary
    • Character customization with a slider for bust/posterior size (also a kitsune race would be very kawaii)
    • More consumables
    • More in-depth armor transmog, like letting us choose the color for each buckle and strap on the armor
    • Cheat codes, but still allow cheated characters on the leaderboards
    • Microtransactions to let us boost characters to max level
    • More types of treasure goblins, and make one ultra-rare goblin that drops all of the best items in the game so that we need to farm that one goblin for the best builds
    • Prop-hunt mode in PvP
    • Fewer consumables
    • Environmental hazards, like ice for us to slip on, or smoke to choke in, or acid to melt in
    • Photo-mode, but keep the camera fixed in the isometric angle so that all images of the game retain the Diablo aesthetic
    • More recipes and ingredients. Maybe we have to lure a certain enemy back to Sanctuary to use it in a recipe. Or maybe we have a low-% chance to harvest an ingredient from a specific creature
    • Mounts! We don't need high-mobility abilities when we can have fixed-speed mounts instead. Far more realistic.
    • Instead of boosting stats through level-ups, make us lift weights, or run on a treadmill, or study. Preferably in real-time for ultimate immersion
    • Automatically pick up crafting materials and gems (this is not sarcastic - everyone legitimately wants this)
    • Make Hardcore mode delete all characters when you die. Like it even kills your very soul (pairs well with the idea of using microtransactions to boost new characters)
    • MOBA game mode. Maybe call it Champions of the Storm or something like that?
    • More characters voiced by celebrities, like Mila Kunis or Bernie Sanders
    • More consumables
    • Optional Russian trance music tracks
    • Political factions, so that before every mission we have to clear the mission with a council, have it put to a vote and passed by simple majority, and if the proposal is rejected we have to debate the opposition to try and sway the vote
    • Stickers on weapons (preferably driven by MTX, like in CSGO)
    • Bring back the Auction House! Let us use in-game gold or IRL money

    Again, I clearly know more about this game franchise than the developers. So please listen to my objectively-superior ideas and implement all of them, because I deserve a perfect game.

    In case it wasn't already obvious, this is entirely satirical, and meant to tease the many "Diablo 4 needs to have X" posts that have been flooding the sub since the announcement. The devs know what they're doing. Your idea isn't what everyone wants. They've made 3 killer games in this franchise so far, and they learned A LOT from the evelotion of D3 since it's launch. Trust them with their project, as they've been working hard on it for a long time.

    Guaranted primal drop on Uber Diablo?

    What if killing uber diablo would get us a guaranteed primal drop. I mean it took me like 10 or 15 minutes to kill him alone. And getting 4 infernal machines is a poor reward for such a long fight. Maybe it took me that long because i'm only ~600paragon..

    What do you think? Ofc if there was a guaranteed primal drop, they should implement a system where you can get only one primal per day. To restrain people to farm him all day.
