[FEEDBACK]Diablo 2: Resurrected Early Access Beta

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 08:08 AM PDT

#THREAD WILL UNLOCK ONCE EARLY ACCESS BETA STARTS AT 10AM PDT/1PM EDT/7PM CEST

The Diablo 2: Resurrected Early Access has now started. Please use this thread to share your feedback, whether you are playing or just watching it via streams.

How do I get access to the Early Access Beta?

You can gain access to the Early Access by either pre-purchasing the game on supported platforms, or by watching a total of 2.5 hours of a D2R Twitch stream. Cross-progression is supported, but you need to pre-purchase it on all the platforms you are interested in trying. Nintendo Switch does NOT have the Early Access Beta.

What is available during the Early Access Beta?

Five classes (Amazon, Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, Paladin) are available to play through the first two Acts of D2R. The level cap is likely to be the same as in the Technical Alpha, level 30.

    Will my progress transfer?

Your progress will transfer to the Open Beta weekend next week. IT WILL NOT TRANSFER TO THE LIVE GAME.

After 21 years I just realised that the buff from the stamina shrine is not an angel but a feet with wings

Is it just me or is the doorways too hard to see on D2R maps? 2 pictures for comparison.

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 03:11 PM PDT

Any way to turn this off in game?

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 06:58 PM PDT

The Beta is 1 to 1 like the original game... they even used the servers from 2000

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 11:14 AM PDT

    True diablo experience.

Played for 45 minutes, game froze... character stuck in limbo and can't create a new game :D

Anyone else put in countless hours in D2 without ever doing ladders?

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 09:47 AM PDT

Feel like im the minority here but I played thousands of hours as a kid, mostly single player. Didnt even know ladder existed never knew any metas or rune words just hand random ass builds with characters getting to 40-50ish then picking it back up later and starting a new character. Never put any points in vitality cause i figured str increases my damage why would I care about my health and wondered why I got constantly one shot in nightmare and hell

I am definitely looking forward to giving ladder a try once it comes out now

Diablo 2: Resurrected Ultrawide support missing?

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 10:15 AM PDT

Looks like there is no ultrawide support for the game. Really sucks having these black bars on the sides of my screen.

You can even cast spells inside these black bars, please tell me this is a bug:

Since there is no physical release, I had to build my own collectors edition resembling the original Big Box. Hope you like it!

If you're dumb like me. You need to select Beta for it to enable the install button

It opened a rift in time

D2R really brings back memories, in the best way possible.

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 04:00 PM PDT

I got into D2 way back in the day. I remember buying the game at a local computer shop and then opening the box and reading the manual on the way home on the bus.

I had JUST discovered Diablo randomly and after finishing it, discovered that Diablo 2 was around the corner!

What a trip, I remember being excited to try all the new classes and all the unknowns and the story. I remember thinking the video cutscenes were insane (man have we come a LONG way).

… I remember as time passed and the expansion dropped life changed too. I was struggling with a minimum wage job and all I had was an old pc that still played D2. I worked nights and every morning I'd come home and queue up some Baal runs. After all the bills I had just 20 bucks to my name and every time I got a soda and a chip to farm Baal…

I remember watching the trade screen like I was watching the Matrix… the deals going by.. desperately looking for the one decent Baranar's Star deal…

This has been a wonderful journey and this game brings back so much! It helped me get through tougher times and it stood the test of time.

Today I have a lot more than 20 bucks but I'm old and I'm eating some fruit with a glass of water… but man, it's like I never left.

What a trip! How about you guys? What has changed since you left D2?

Please fix the Halls of the Dead maps - Exit barely visible

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 10:08 PM PDT

Please fix the Halls of the Dead maps - Exit barely visible

The D2 Resurrected maps for Halls of the Dead do a terrible job at outlining the exit for each level. I've attached a comparison of the maps below (Original D2 vs. D2R)

    Diablo 2 Original

    D2R

When the map is smaller and placed to the top right/left (Not full screen), it becomes almost impossible to find the blending exit on the map for D2R.

Controller support is fantastic and is actually superior in a couple of ways to KB+M

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 01:08 PM PDT

First off I just want to say I play 99% of my games with KB+M, but I'm extremely pleased with how well Blizzard have implemented controller support.

The first big improvement is the more modern style of movement, if you spin in a circle it's completely smooth, whereas with KB+M it's locked to the old school limited axis of movement, which can feel a bit jittery in comparison. The other is how skills are handled, with a controller each spell is mapped to its own button so you don't have to swap to it, then use it, this feels so much better. The final big improvement for me are the nameplates which are above the mobs head, not at the top of the screen which I much prefer, I really wish at least this was an option for KB+M users.

If you own a controller give it a go and see if you like it, I was pleasantly surprised. https://i.imgur.com/iPHmoXZ.jpg

RTX 3080 is melting in menu !!!

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 02:51 PM PDT

My MSI RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio is cooking up in D2 Ressurected menu! 99% constant GPU load!!! I'm afraid it will burn my GPU as it happened in New World. Blizzard, please fix this!! 🔥

EDIT: After logging in and playing my GPU load is still at 98-99% all the time. No matter if I have v-sync turned on or off!

D2R multiplayer is unplayable on consoles

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 03:20 PM PDT

I'm sure this has already been said several times but I think it is so important that I needed to make this.

If you want to play multiplayer on consoles, there is no lobby, there is no ability to create custom games, there is no list of custom games that you can join. This is going to absolutely kill trading and multiplayer in general on consoles. It is literally the worst possible change that could have been made. I have no idea if this is even possible for them to fix with the game scheduled to come out next month but honestly can't believe they made this change.

    Diablo 2 Resurrected Bugs.

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 07:58 PM PDT

These are the bugs and i have encountered so far in the Beta:

    • Using Paladin's charge into a insurmountable obstacle such as a rock or wall completely drains your current mana. This could be from point blank or even a few feet away.

    • Swapping items in the shared inventory does not work; In other words: Say i am currently holding a Nef Rune, and then want to swap it with a Chipped Gem by clicking on it, the swap will not occur.

    • There was a single instance where i tried to activate a way point but it was impossible to interact with in anyway. It could not be highlighted or clicked on. Going to town with a Town Portal Scroll and then returning fixed the issue.

    • Game became very slow and started stuttering wiles Aura was active. Switching to old Graphics crashed the game to desktop.
