Dear Vicarious Visions, thank you for improving so much on all of those shown and unshown things mentioned in the Technical Alpha Learnings post - This is my feedback to you guys and gals

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 04:18 AM PDT

Initially i was skeptical about a Diablo 2 Remaster as there are just so many quirks both common and uncommon that this game has that remastering it would be a difficult endeavour.

Right after the Deep Dive with MrLlamaSC you folks already gave a good hint of where your developing direction is pointed at. That gave me and most likely alot of people hope that this game would be what it was supposed to be - at it's core Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction - and the shell being both visual overhauls if you can even call this just a "visual overhaul". It's more a piece of art you are creating and enhancing on what was there before combined with necessary or in some people's eyes unnecessary but toggleble features, so that those who wish can just enjoy the pure experience like they did over two decades ago.

Just looking at how you deal with community feedback is state of the art in it's own league. Many huge development studios could take a look at you and learn alot of things.

Just look at this Blizzard Spell animation change, it went from a cold sneeze, to a sidewards cold-sneeze to an actual ginormous blizzard the evils of sanctuary should be afraid of. You didn't just increase the particle sizes, but also made that the animation speed align with what most people would consider a blizzard storm. And this is just one single piece of the puzzle.

It is a pleasure to see all the passion you bring to crafting this so beloved game thinking of every detail. After all the devil is in the detail.

Once again, im stoked to see what this Beta and the following release will bring us and would like to thank every single one working on this project, that again i can only repeat myself, so many people love so dearly.

    Thank you.

    P.S You're all amazing

P.P.S Please think of some way to keep bots away from Battle.net :o

P.P.P.S Please change Grandpa to Grandma atleast :')

One thing im curious about regarding the D4 announcement cinematic?

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 09:28 PM PDT

So I was curious, regarding the guy with the eye patch, did the summoner take on his identity/appearance in the lead up to the cinematic in order to lure all 3 of them down there and summon lilith? Or were the 4 of them actually looking for treasure and just stumbled (for lack of a better term) onto the gate and he just took the form of Eye Patch at that time. Not really important by any means but just a curiosity I had. Thanks!

    D2 legacy item art

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 01:21 PM PDT

Honestly I think d2 has the best item art out there. I really haven't seen any game with better looking items. When it comes to items it's not just about higher resolution, that's why I think legacy d2 has better item art than d2r. VV did a pretty good job with items of course, but still no where close to d2 legacy... So, could we please get an option to use upscaled original d2 item art?

A reminder to returning players who think they won't have enough time to enjoy D2R

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 12:43 AM PDT

I've seen several posts or comments all echoing roughly the same thing. That some returning Diablo 2 players won't have enough time to enjoy the game as they once did. While they used to chug Mountain Dew and magic find into the wee hours, they now find themselves constrained by their adult responsibilities. Whether that means clocking in at their demanding workplace or raising their hellish offspring. One thing is for sure, they simply can't maintain that same level of extreme gamer they once sustained.

Now I know this isn't the case for all returning players. But many who are indeed returning, simply had much more free time back when they last played. This is due to the fact that the game is over 20 years old, so the last time someone played could have been quite awhile ago. I myself don't have too many responsibilities currently as I first played when I was quite young, however I also know that I don't have literally all the time in a given day to farm Baal runs either. While this reluctance applies mostly to returning D2 players, I could see it applying to new players with busy schedules as well.

My reminder to players that are reluctant to enter the depths of hell in Diablo 2 Resurrected, is to simply know that you don't need the best gear to do well or to have fun. This is largely because with how good itemization is in D2, you can make almost any character good in PvM or PvP via more common items. You'll have higher chances of finding these items compared to ultra rare end game items and still be a contender. What makes this even more possible, is that in-game trading will be better than ever with the influx of players. Also there's a benefit of new players joining Sanctuary, in that the overall bar will be lowered. Just meaning that the "good" player on average, will be a bit more obtainable compared to the current state of D2. This will also be improved by there not being any botting anymore (hopefully). Without people botting, there will be that many fewer high end players, thus further lowering that metaphorical bar. It should honestly be reminiscent of the early days of D2 LoD. In that those lower end items will have more value than ever. But lastly, while D2 can be a grind, it's also largely about having fun. You won't have to level a Hammerdin to 99 or make an Enigma to be fulfilled. You could simply play at your own pace and all while still amassing some useful loot to boot. So throw caution to the wind and know that D2R won't be nearly as difficult as one might expect.

Should Lilith have her own unique skin in Diablo II Resurrected?

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 09:14 AM PDT

Lilith was first introduced as a Uber boss in Diablo 2, bearing the appearance of a colourswapped Andariel. However, we know VV used some creative liberties to fresh out certain bosses, like Blood Raven. Would you like to see Lilith to be her own model?

[Diablo IV] Won't Druids be pigeonholed into playing the same way?

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 04:39 PM PDT

So one thing I'm not really sold on so far is the unique class mechanic for the Druid. All (or most?) of the Druid's skills are tied to Shapeshifting. When you press a skill the Druid will automatically shift into the form inherent to that skill. That means that none of your forms are permanent. You will shift to another form as soon as you use a skill tied to another form.

It seems like the class is designed from the ground up so you are weaving in and out of forms all the time. Isn't that kind of taking away from the Druid class fantasy and build potential? It seems like all druids will be playing this way instead of having different druids specializing in different forms or magic or summoning beasts..

What do you all think? I would like to see what everyone thinks

    d2 resurrected questions

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 04:29 PM PDT

I know they're going to keep the game mechanics like 99.9% the same but I have some questions for anyone who is playing the alpha/beta or is, as they say, 'in-the-know' :

    1. Will glitch rushes still be possible? (Getting Baal quest via someone else & getting into durance of hate without smashing the orb)
    2. How many characters can you make per account? From what I can tell the stash isn't nearly big enough, so you'll still need mules... On top of that, I liked to play classic, lod, classic hardcore, and lod hardcore. That's a lot of different characters... If you can only have like 10 characters that would be a disaster.
    3. Does killing the cow king still disable you from creating the portal or are they removing that?
    4. battlenet became extremely laggy at some point in the last 10 years or so... I'm guessing the remake isn't on battlenet, so, how is the lag in the remake? And, since about like 10 years ago, they made it so you can't quickly remake/rejoin games or you'll get 'failed to join game' which will turn into a realm down. This will not exist right? So you'll be able to just kill meph or andy and leave/remake game?
    5. Sanctuary Aura is bugged and has always been. Is this going to be fixed?
    6. Will the ethereal armor bug still exist? (Socketing an ethereal with the horadric cube and getting an extra 50% defense)

Also, not that this has anything to do with Blizzard particularly, but will there still people abusing hacks? maphack, botting, pvp hacks, or is there a way for Blizzard to make all of that impossible?

    Max character per account?

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 07:22 AM PDT

So with the announcement of 3 shared stash tabs. Has there been any comment in the maximum characters per account? Or if multiple online accounts can be created per purchase?

If the accounts are bound to purchase (60$ each) as well as the original 8 characters per account. 3 shared stash tabs simply aren't enough at all.

I'm not asking for unlimited tabs line Plugy or what not… but current Diablo if I needed more space I would create a mule account and have 8 more stash tabs at a time.

Imagine farming torches and having to throw one out entirely to get another. That's a huge nerf and definitely needs addressed.

Always wondered: “what’s the logic behind not being able to use all skills on both clicks?”. I saw the Texh alpha learnings and wondered why wasn’t it adressed , it would be pretty great if we could, especially for melee builds.

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 03:28 PM PDT

It's not like if right and left click work the same way

Right has auto-target function. When left click is more of a selector/walker click

By them being different and by not allowing all skills on both side you kinda penalize those skills and builds

It would be great for melee builds like zealer to have fanat on left click ( force walk) and zeal on right click and hold it to target monsters on your way

It would be cool for movement as well, sorc with teleport on left would be nice, while a singer could use teleport and WC(only right click atm) without having to swap

Not to mention that console's keybinding is now Lightyears ahead of this archaic arbitrary restriction

The angel of Valor Imperius' slow descend into Wrath.

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 01:38 PM PDT

Not sure if anyone else noticed but they seem to like to make Imperius character seem like an A$$ to the Naphalem (us), which may foreshadow him becoming an enemy. Does anyone else think they may develop Imperius' character arc as he currently represents Valor and slowly turns to Wrath. Much like Malthael from Wisdom to Death. It almost seems like a possible story arc for him and we as Nephalem finally get to battle him as a boss. Seems cool. Even Diablo says to Imperius- "you're rage makes you powerful, yet you hide it from your bretheren. Perhaps you fear them seeing you for what you truly are."

    D2R character limit?

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 03:38 AM PDT

Is there any indication as to how many characters will we be able to create per account?

Three shared spaces is great, because it helps a lot with safely moving your items in between your characters.

But what matters the most for those who like collecting sets and uniques is how much space in total is going to be allowed.
