I'm so excited for you guys who will basically be experiencing D2 for the first time

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 10:29 AM PDT

Whether you never played D2 before, or you played just a play through when you were younger, I envy you guys for being able to get a fresh D2 experience.

The one thing D2 does better than any other game I've played is a strong adrenaline rush when you find certain items/reach certain thresholds. Of course you'll feel really good as you go through the game and defeat quests, but certain things like crafting runewords and finding gg Uniques feel incredible. There's going to be a point where you find your first shako and you'll feel like you hit the lottery. It's a giant game changer and increases your MF/skills and basically will be an upgrade for any character.

Once you develop a farming route, you'll be hunting rarer uniques, bases, runes, etc. Probably some of the hypest moments will be crafting a gg runeword like Enigma or Infinity. I'm 34 years old and last year, I crafted my first Infinity in Plugy and I was jumping up and down when I finally found the base to put the runes in. You'll finally find the base or runes you need, go to your stash, and one rune at a time will be getting more and more excited. You'll probably have the runeword Googled in another tab even though you have heard the recipe a billion times.

D2 is an amazing game for getting these short term goals that will get you excited, but those short term goals will gradually ascend into long term goals which become so satisfying when you reach them. And it feels like there's no limit. You mastered your sorceress? Great, maybe build a lighting sorc or a poison necro now. There's always something to do in this great game.

    Happy hunting everyone

My take on a Rune Word calculator

    Posted: 09 Jun 2021 10:47 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

I know there are plenty of rune word calculators out there but I wanted to make one for our diablo fan site and after it turned out pretty decently, I decided to translate it and share it with more people on the internet. You will find it on this address: https://d3bg.org/runewords-calculator/

There are two key features that make it kind of unique and different from other calculators:

    1. It remembers the runes you select so that if you close the window, you won't have to click on every rune next time you open it up.
    2. There is an option to filter rune words by item bases. Let's say you find a normal item with many sockets but are unsure if it's worth keeping. You can easily filter all rune words that require X amount of sockets for a given item and see if you can use it for a rune word.

I am open to suggestions :)

Does anyone remember the trivia channel?

    Posted: 09 Jun 2021 09:25 AM PDT

My mom and I used to play D2 together and we looooved sitting in the trivia chat channel identifying the set/unique gear. So much nostalgia. Any chance something like this might exist again?

    Killing The Butcher Without Potions

    Posted: 09 Jun 2021 05:48 AM PDT

Been playing Diablo1 in the PS1 version and noticing a few changes on the difficulty level.

I started with Sorcerer at first, but after reading to not bother with The Butcher (because I didn't have any good speels at lvl2) I decided to skip it without even trying.

Now with warrior, I decided to go for it with very poor lvl2 gear and managed to kill it at 1st attempt, without even using any potions lol.

This is really strange, because back in the day when I played on my PC i remember I had to use a lot of potions and retries. I'm using the fast mode and seems the warrior attack speed is much greater compared to the Butcher. Seems PS1 version is easier than PC. Is this true? Maybe EA forgot to increase enemies attack speed in fast mode lol.

When did Diablo 3 on Switch become out of stock and really expensive?

    Posted: 09 Jun 2021 01:31 AM PDT

Hi, I was thinking of purchasing the game on the Nintendo Switch but I noticed that it suddenly jumped from the price I last saw it a few years back (being around $70-$80).

I checked recently to see that it was almost $200!

Was there any mention on why the game's stock has suddenly declined?

Did they stop producing copies of the Nintendo Switch Edition?

Playing D1 in Nightmare and Hell modes after finishing the game

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 02:45 PM PDT

    Hi all.

I just finished the game in ps1 and have now a lvl25 Sorcerer. I started a new game in Nightmare with this character but it seems all too easy and my gear is nothing special. I just spam chain lightning spell all the time and every enemy instantly dies in the 1st strike. I was hoping this would be much harder, so there's no much point to continue.

So my question is: should I just play just for fun until I unlock Hell mode and see if it gets harder? (Lvl30 I assume) Or will the difficulty be sort of exponential in the upcoming levels?

It's so strange because it was really hard to beat diablo, I had to use all the shenanigans (mana shield, apocalypse, golem, etc) and now in Nightmare it's like a walk in a park. Just need 1 spell, not to mention that I lost all my uniques, so my gear is much worse now.

    HellFire Battle.NET Patch

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 10:39 AM PDT

    Hello,

Recently I started playing with my old Hellfire with my decades old characters it's lots of fun. Regardless that they say this version had multiplayer disabled I have:

    -IPX

    -Modem

    -Direct cable connection

In it but no battle.net. I wonder if anyone knows about a HellFire patch which also allows bnet?

Even the 1 makes absolutely no sense to play single player because you have 1 timeline with savegames that's it, in multi you can run as many times as you wish.
