    "Bring Back Body Parts"

I'm a 1.09 purist. Why doesn't Blizzard care about me?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 03:17 AM PDT

Why is 1.10 the "purist" edition? Just because it was the last content patch Blizzard made before abandoning D2? Why not remaster 1.09 instead? Why do we have to keep playing the "enigma" patch for another 10 years? Forreal?

/sarcasm. There is no D2 purist. D2 has always changed. Even most long-time 1.10 players will tell you they want new content, new changes, new QoL. A few vocal posters here doesn't change this. Making upgrades to D2 doesn't mean it's going to f things up. It's already f'ed up. 1.10 is far from perfect and it's stale as hell. Saying "purist" is just a Blizzard excuse for releasing a lazy remaster and people here are eating it up like it's gospel.

Edit: Yes morons. 1.10 wasn't the last patch but it was the last major patch. Everything else that came after were minor tweaks or fixes. The way the game is played hasn't changed since 1.10.

Have any of you played good old Diablo this year?

D2: Silly, but is there any reason to run Halls of the Dead in Nightmare or Hell?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 10:21 AM PDT

You get the Cube in Normal, and keep it for the rest of the game. But is there anything else making a second and third run at the Halls of the Dead worthwhile?

    Thanks!

Progress on Grail Tracking with GoMule and Flavie D2R

Working with u/viral_dna on a Grail Track for Single Player D2R

    Some good progress:

Grail Tracking in the Upper Left Corner

    The method:
Use GoMule + Flavie to generate a report and edit the MainMenuHD json file for D2R. Then grail stats appear in-game!

    Code and details:
    https://github.com/pairofdocs/gomule-d2r/releases/tag/v0.12

    To play around with it:

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 02:29 PM PDT

How do i check my personal best records for greater rifts? I see posts that it should be under Profile -> Seasons, but Summary section only shows number of Nephalem rifts completed and Records section only shows Season Journey chapter. What am I missing?

    Hype for D2 RM?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 12:51 PM PDT

Who else is hyped to play the remastered version of D2 later this year? What class will you be paying and why? For me, it's sorcerer / wizard so I can eventually farm an oculus eye :O

Synergy system was the right thing done wrong

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 07:55 AM PDT

It should have never been about damage%, which doesn't help skills with limited mechanics, but they didn't knew, it's was one of the first iteration of such system, they did not know the effect it would have and the data to improve it

It should have been about skill modifiers

It should have been a system where skills have Specialities, basic speciality families should have been created(like POe later did)

    • AOe

    • fire

    • projectile

    • etc

Then comes synergies, skill have a set of synergies they benefit from

    —————————

So let's say you have Hydra and it has :

    • synergize with 1 additional projectile per 5 hard skill in a projectile speciality skill

    • synergize with 5% increased damage per 1 hard skill in Fire speciality skill

    • Synergize with 20% chance to explode on impact per 5 hard skill in AoE speciality skills

So let's isolate Aoe:blizzard fireball, ice blast, meteor, frost nova, nova are all AOE speciality skills and would be valid choices to synergize with Hydra, making its projectile explode

So any skill with those specialities buff those asking for those synergy

A skill could have many specialities, ie explosive arrow being Fire, aoe, projectile

When you think about it you can ramify plenty of skills of a class between different tree creating so much build options and diversity

This kind of system wouldn't restrict you to a particular tree like it currently does, it would allow you to explore the vast capacities of your class.

    ——————————

This would also fix the most negatively affected aspect by synergies... oskills, CTC and charges. Trang Oul meteor build could be a thing if synergies are Categories rather than class specific skills. Another example would be Windhammer with its twister casting chance, you could use it on a barb, spec into war cry, with stun, aoe, physical specialities, and be able to synergize the ctc skill without having to be its origin class

    ————————————

Doubt this would ever been applied to D2R but I really hope they give full support for modding and somebody explore this avenue to show how cool it would be
