Play D3 just for the campaign and sp?

    Posted: 13 May 2021 07:42 AM PDT

I loved D2 back in the day. Played it in MP for many hours with friends, but I bought it for the dark themed campaign.

And it was worth its money/time for the 5 acts and the feeling.

Should I finally give D3 a try? I avoided it because of the comic style and I always just hear about the endgame. Boss runs, rift farms, events.

I do not care for it. Want to play the campaign on normal. No farming bosses or theorycrafting. How long will the campaign be for me? More Like D2 or D1 with a very little playtime.

Sadly most modern ARPGs focus on endgame, partyplay and the best build for a class everyone uses.

    Legality of D2JSP

    Posted: 13 May 2021 03:02 PM PDT

Has there ever been anything regarding the view from Blizzard to sites like d2jsp, where people can buy external currency for moeny and then trade it for ingame items? Or even straight $$ -> Enigma trading sites.

I mean, the site is up from like 2003 and I know how Blizzard hates these services, so how is it here?

I guess there is something against ToS, but what is it? Who's at fault - the player or the site owner? Can the "shut down" such site or can they only ban players using the site?

    D2R question about bug fixes.

    Posted: 13 May 2021 02:08 AM PDT

Are all chain-lock bugs, charge lags, frw lags and other this type of bugs being repaired in d2r? Were devs even addressing this? For me not having to deal with this crap is bigger that the rework itself and would be glad from a simple patch.

I don't understand games like Diablo and other games like that. Please help me understand them!

    Posted: 13 May 2021 07:57 AM PDT

Please don't downvote me i am new to Reddit!

I have played a lot of RPG games. My favourite ones are Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment. I also quite like Icewind Dale, Dragon Age Origins, Pillars of Eternity, and others.

Diablo is a very different game to these for some reason. I have only played Diablo 1 and 2, here are my questions:

    1. What exactly is "endgame" and why do people care about it?
    2. Is it wrong to play the game in singleplayer? Most people only talk about multiplayer
    3. Why do people feel the need to grind all the time? As long as you can finish the game, why does it matter what items you have?
    4. Why does the game (Diablo 2) place such emphasis on exploring the same areas over and over again? Once i am done with an area, why would i return there?
    5. Why is it i can't create my character as i like because i need to look up "builds" on the Internet? Otherwise my "build" will likely be "bad". And why can't i customize my character's looks?
    6. How to determine if your "build" is "bad" or "good"? As long as i can finish the game, what's the difference between a "good" "build" and a "bad" one?
    7. Why does the game (Diablo 2, Diablo 1 doesn't have that) return you to town and respawn all the enemies whenever you leave the game? Why not let the player save the game when they want and then get right back into it? Instead you need to kill the monsters yet again.
    8. Why is it that you can't solve problems peacefully (for instance, by having high enough Charisma, like in Planescape or Pillars) and instead you need to kill everybody?
    9. Why is there almost no dialogue? Why can't i ask Diablo about his motivations? Or maybe convince him to back down instead of fighting him?
    10. Why are there no optional sidequests (or almost none)?
    11. Why is it that the characters have almost no backstory? I would like to know who those 2 people in the Pandemonium Fortress are and how they wound up there. Maybe convince them to join with me in a party?
    12. Why is it that you have no influence over the story? Why can't i choose whether i want to side with Diablo, or fight him? For instance, i would like to do a Chaotic Evil run where i side with Diablo and kill all the good guys.

Why is Diablo so different to other RPG games? Why did they change so much compared to other RPG games?

Also why do people get so agitated when i say Diablo 1 is better? Here people downvoted and mocked me and called me a clown despite the fact i am new to Reddit.
