| Every Diablo 2 Character Build: A Response to "There will only be Hammerdins and Sorcs" Posted: 10 Mar 2021 11:36 AM PST Since the community believes that Hammerdins and Sorcs will dominate the game, I'm here to prove you wrong. This is very telling to me that many people didn't explore Diablo 2 very much. (Builds in Bold are builds I consider top tier) Disclaimer: There are probably more builds than I've listed, let me know what ones I missed! Paladins:
Sorceress:
Now here's all the builds that some of the community thinks can't compete Druid
Necro
Assassin
Amazon
Barbarian *
In conclusion, will you see a lot of paladins and sorcs? Yes. Are they the only viable characters? No. Are there going to be 8 paladin lobbies like the community memes about? No. Additionally, paladin/sorc torches and skill grand charms are EXTREMLEY expensive compared to the other classes, so that's one reason not to go for these classes. You will likely see mostly pala/sorc in the first week while people farm gear for their other chars, but after the first week or so the game will be diverse with an variety of classes and builds. The other characters are sometimes more expensive to gear than a sorc, but that makes it so much cooler when you have a decked out summon necro. These characters are the endgame, no one cares that you have a blizz sorc or a hammerdin... But you have a godly trapsin? Or a javazon clearing baal faster than the Hammerdin bots? Thats cool. *IMO the barbarian simply is one of the weaker PVM classes. His melee is massively gear dependent, and his kit fits more of a support role in group settings. This said, WW/Frenzy/Zerk barbs can do all content, just slow. The barbarian can do quick pit runs and other MF routes well, but thats about it. [link] [comments] | ||

My question is, will it unlock permanently if I start a new game or is it only for this playthrough? I'm asking because I wish to do the Skeleton King quest that I didn't get(got the poisoned well instead) as I don't want to come back to the quest when I'm level 50 or something. | Summoner Location in Arcane Sanctuary - Has there been evidence of a tell? Posted: 10 Mar 2021 08:11 AM PST Hi All, Like many of you, I'm very excited for D2R. Been playing for 20 years, own 5 copies, and have even played in both English and French (in a failed attempt to learn French :P). HOTO is called Cicatrice en Francais? One thing that has driven me crazy since my childhood was figuring out the Summoner's location in the Arcane Sanctuary with some sort of reliable tell. I even had napkins keeping track of data with Summoner's location lol. What triggered this to begin with was when I noticed that the paintings on the walls in the Halls of Vaught could reliably signify exactly where Nihlathak was located without having to travel toward the wrong path. This is now well documented (The 'Eye Panel'), but many people still do not know about it. There are numerous other established patterns that speedrunners like MrLlamaSc use and speak about: Underground Passage, Countess, Outer Cloister, Catacombs, Durance of Hate 2, and so forth. Even to this day, I am still learning new things about this game like the 65536 super chest patterns (Thanks DBrunski) for high runes in Lower Travincal. Even 20 years later, new things are being discovered in this game like the Baal wave skip. Last night, I was on RyuQuezacolt's channel who is another D2 speedrunner with a dedicated D2 map playlist. When asked about the Arcane Sanctuary, he mentioned that someone by the name of 'Sroy' had done some work with the DLL files and did some work with map generation and function calls. Apparently, there was a correlation with the way Act 3 was setup in relation to the Summoner location within the Arcane Sanctuary. No one knew or could recall any details beyond that. Given the excitement of D2R and the baseline love for D2 as is, I want to find Sroy and solve this problem for the entire community. Just given everything we've seen, there has to be some sort of pattern. If anyone out there knows Sroy or what he has found, I would be very grateful. I'd love to help or fund his research. All Blizzard has to do is ensure that D2:R has the same open b.net and mod support and then everyone here can have EXACTLY what they want. Keep D2:R as is, as close to 1:1 as possible with minor non controversial QoL updates like the shared stash and just improve the open b.net. Then the community can make any/all QoL changes they want and enjoy the game how they see fit. Want to remove immunity monsters? go for it! Want access to all runewords!? Go for it! Want to change the skills and shit?! Go for it! Then perhaps, perhaps if there is a specific community made change that that super majority enjoys they can patch it into core. who knows. But strong, thorough, steamlined mod support is what everyone should be pushing. [link] [comments] | ||
