    D2:R cow king suggestion

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 04:40 PM PST

Please make it to where if the king is killed it doesn't stop us from making the cow portal again. That ruined a lot of fun times.

Details I noticed in the Rogue B-roll footage

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 09:05 AM PST

Some stuff isn't exactly new, but it might be for some people. Listed in no particular order. Youtube Link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSDIzMid6Lc or you can download it for yourself from https://blizzard.gamespress.com/Diablo-IV-BlizzConline-Press-Kit

    • Dust flies around when you open a door - 0:11
    • Arrows remain impaled on corpses
    • Fallen Overseers lick their swords to make them catch on fire - 01:08
    • Rogue's skill icon color changes depending on the Imbue they use
    • When a skill is on cooldown it reverts back to the stained glass art in a cool way
    • I noticed either a legendary power or a skill passive - the Rogue was leaving shadows of herself that attacked enemies - 6:18
    • No water reflection observed in this build from 3:44 - 4:50
    • Fallen spawning out of nowhere and T-posing at the edge of the screen - 02:00
    • Plague Maggots dying without death animation - 4:23
    • Rogue throwing what is probably Smoke Bomb (or similarly called skill) which 'Pacified' a Fallen Shaman. Also worked on the Elites - 1:24
    • Voice chat is integrated in the game at the moment - 6:39
    • The left mouse button skill made arrows bounce off of walls and maybe had a % to knockback (this might have also been awarded by an item) - 2:24
    • The Rogue's resource is called Energy in the video. Skills also gray out if you don't have enough Energy to cast them - 4:36
    • Unconfirmed: Shadow Imbue made the left mouse click skill to explode on impact with enemies - 02:12 (Confirmed from interviews - https://diablo.blizzplanet.com/blog/comments/blizzcon-2021-diablo-4-press-qa-roundup)
    • Arrows also stick to the ground for a few seconds before they disappear
    • The cooldown of Shadow Realm was triggered once the effect ended - 3:07
    • You get a new skill bar once you mount (3 slots available in the demo, 1 of which was locked) - 4:46
    • Zones in the video: Garan Hold, Garan Brae, Scosglen Bluffs, Scosglen Hills, Khotun's Reach, Vault of the Forgotten: Level 1
    • Fallens carried different weapons - Sword, Club, Sword + Shield
    • I think herbs are showing up on the ground and on the minimap - 6:02
    • Day/Night indicator is present on the minimap
    • There seems to be a filter that prioritizes displaying Elite names over regular monsters, unless too close or damaged. Nice for trimming down excessive UI clutter. - 0:37
    • The Elite affixes are also displayed in a chat or a combat log in the right corner: Poison Enchanted, Electric Lance (Similar to D3's Arcane Enchanted), Mortar, Summoner
    • Potions heal over time. The cooldown was 17 seconds, which make think it was affected by item bonuses - 1:21
    • Quests/Objectives: Destroy the Fallen Idols: 3 left; (PH) Cleanse Shards of Hatred at an alter to turn them into currency; Dusk on the Mountain - Seek shelter in the village of Nevesk
    • Text color coding - White, Yellow, Light Blue
    • Immobile turtle critters - 4:31
    • Upon climbing and traversing the terrain the Rogue gained Impetus buff (place holder D3 Barb Furious Charge icon), I'm guessing it increases movement speed - 5:12
    • Monsters die on the spot for the most part and do not fly off screens away like in D3, making me think that enemy corpses might have a gameplay purpose in some way

Very hyped about both D4 and D2R of course, but my favourite segment from Blizzconline was Michael Gough giving an AMA as Deckard Cain. Stay awhile....

Visual Comparison of Rogue Encampment D2 vs D2R

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 12:29 PM PST

Technically this is Project D2 which allows for higher resolution.

    https://imgur.com/idyrltd

The visuals look absolutely stunning in D2R, can't believe how incredible of a job they're doing. Never would have thought the remaster would be this good.

Apparently needs to be said that botting fueled AN economy in D2, not the only possible (or even best) economy

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 08:03 AM PST

I probably speak for quite a few players when I say that botting and duping flooding the server with high level items didn't make them any more available to the wider player base. I played for something like 14 years and never managed to outfit a full endgame build. Still loved the game, even played for a long time on SP.

What botting and duping did was lower the trading power of any individual item you might've been lucky enough to find as a non-participant. Hence part of the need for outside currencies like on the d2jsp forum, because the barter economy was fucked.

The consequences of losing botting isn't not being able to make your items, it's needing to be more judicious in where you allocate your resources. So instead of having an Enigma, for example, on every character, you might be able to get one. But that might also mean forgoing something like a CTA. Why that makes the game less inherently exciting for some, I have no idea, but they were probably the ones botting or at least directly benefiting from it. What it does is make the ladder climb more competitive, and that should be exciting for both new and returning players.

It's also worth noting, that the shared stash QoL fix is going to enable you to run whatever endgame items you find on every character without having to outfit each one individually. That might not be ideal to some, but it'll lower the barrier of entry to metas like PvP.

    Subtle QoL Improvement (Merc/Stash)

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 09:57 AM PST

For those of you who don't know, in current d2, when you open the stash your full screen becomes your inventory and stash space. This means in order to put merc gear into stash, you have to do merc load out -> inventory -> stash, which is annoying when you have an inventory full of charms.

With shared stash we only need to gear out one merc, so the ability to view merc load out in tandem with stash is very important.

Looking at this screenshot, we can see that viewing stash not only does not take up the full screen, but there are also separate close boxes for each view, meaning we can potentially view stash and merc load out at the same time, making transferring that gear much easier.

Pretty big win (imo) and one I hadn't considered or seen discussed yet.

    [D2R] Unpopular opinion thread.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 03:10 AM PST

I feel if the drop rates are staying the same and bots / dupers being dramatically reduced I feel seasons should not be shortened.

The non nolifer crowd won't be making decent builds in 6 months let alone the proposed 3 months.

Also charm inventory should remain the same.

    That is all.

Which endgame farming did you like best? Cows vs Chaos vs Baal

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 10:36 PM PST

I started back in 1.09 and Cows was so fun with my Bowazon / Javazon and Nova Sorc. I think with the shift to Chaos/Baal it really killed a lot of build options.

    Can't believe it

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 08:14 PM PST

A couple months I played and beat Diablo 1, now this time I'm trying to do it in party LAN with my 8y/o kid, but have less quest and feel it more hard at all.

I'm right or just my imagination?

Just got my Diablo IV Collector's Edition Pin and it's 2500 out of 2500!

According to backside of the pin this is a series of 2500

It's questionable what's better the first or the last but i prefer consider this as a perfect roll!

EDIT: This is not 2500 out of 2500 due to all of them marked as "2500", i thought that this one is similar to D2 collector's edition where every box is marked individually. Sorry for your time.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 07:32 PM PST

    Hey all!

Like many of you, super pumped to get back into D2 this year. I coincidentally just picked up my PS5 and was wondering if there are any suggested / recommended similar games to D2 for now.

    Any suggestions welcome!

QOL change nobody is talking about but D2 veterans will appreciate:

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 11:14 PM PST

You can view and filter normal, NM and hell public games, even after killing the last boss of your current difficulty.

Using 'last boss' because in D2 classic it's Diablo, in LoD it's Baal.

In OG D2, if you kill the last boss in normal and move on to nightmare, you can no longer view normal public games on that character. Same thing happens when you transition to hell difficulty, you can no longer see normal or nightmare public games.

P.S. Give us classic players the universal stash too! We play classic not because we're 'purists' but because we enjoy farming rares over the cookie-cutter runeword builds you see in LoD. We want the QOL changes that are coming to LoD!

Dear D3 dev team, please include the legendary gems in the new follower system

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 01:38 AM PST

Obviously we won't use Bane of the Trapped/Powerful on a follower, but Iceblink or Gem of Efficacious Toxin would be a really nice addition. Even a Gogok of Swiftness, just for the CDR and AS.

Even better, if Invigorating Gemstone or Moratorium became useful in any way ;)

What's the point in short seasons?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 11:52 AM PST

(It was announced at Blizzcon D2:re ladder seasons will last 3 months only)

D2 is not really a game you're supposed to rush. By literal design it takes forever to get to level 99, and there are many classes. Drops are rare as fuck and it's difficult to get your full set - top that with the fact it's even harder to get good RNG on the rolls to meet % thresholds.

It also doesn't have any hard PvE that you can say "wow i killed x boss, i beat the game."

Instead, it has a long gear progression and a big PvP community that actually want to have time to use the gear they collect.

.. and then what if you start late, or take a break from the game? You're basically fucked.

Who the hell thought this was a good idea?

About to play Diablo 2 for the first time, any tips?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 05:39 AM PST

After looking in to D2 and hearing about how good the loot system is, I thought I'd give it a try. Should I find a class/build guide or just experiment by myself?

    Any general tips would help.

    I have a question about D2:R

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 07:46 PM PST

They say on the switch that it doesn't allow couch coop, only local play. Does anyone know if there will be a way to get around that? for example make 2 separate switch accounts on one switch?
