I know that the instructions given are pretty clear but it is not working for me. Does it have to be a certain rarity or a certain line that is replaced?

    Diablo III - Necro Builds

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 07:11 PM PST

    Hi everyone!

I just finished Act IV with a monk. I unlocked Act V but I want to finish it with an necromancer.

I have a level 60 necro who never stepped into campaign (levelled him using shadow clone at T6), but to play Act V I need to unlock the other acts first.

Whats the best build (best abilities to use) that dont need good equips that will crush the enemies, so I can rush the campaign?

Already search for some builds, but those sites are so confusing...

Playing with other level 70 friends... do gear and Paragon levels matter, etc?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 03:57 PM PST

As in title, two of my friends and I went through campaign together. We are working on seasonal stuff now.

Do we need to worry about getting too far ahead of each other if one or two of us plays extra to make sure we finish season etc (one can only play on weekends), or does the better gear and paragon levels not matter too much.

We want to keep playing these characters together when we can.

    thanks in advance

Legendary Ring does not appear when linking Blizzard account

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 01:02 PM PST

Hello. I just linked an xbox account with you and it was indicated in the game that I was going to have a legendary ring in diablo 3 as a gift. But it does not appear, in a stash either. You can tell me what to do. I have unlinked account several times and re-linked, but nothing is not showing. Thank you

    Lore Help

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 05:11 AM PST

I've played Diablo III a few years ago with my friend on his Xbox 360. I remember that I loved the gameplay, but I was very confused because I think I did not understand the Plot correctly, because of my little knowledge of the lore and the fact that I didn't play Diablo I and II... Could anybody explain the lore and timeline to me?

A little bit of help/advice please?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 02:42 AM PST

I just started playing recently and got my first character to level 70 (witch doctor) to start doing riffs, etc. I read that I should get the seasonal set to help me with this, but it seems some of the requirements for Chapter IV to get this set are too high level for where I am at (for example, beating Belial on Torment IV). I managed to miraculously do that but now I have to beat a level 20 rift solo which seems just slightly past unattainable. I thought this gear was supposed to make me able to challenge this content, not that I have to beat this content to get the gear haha. So here I am, any advice on how to get through that would be appreciated (hopefully it isn't just minmax gear)

Got my first toon to 70 in Diablo 3, what next?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 01:01 AM PST

I'm new to the game, got my wizard to 70 and not sure where to go from here. I want to try and power level my next hero (monk) if I can. I heard a good way to do that is to make a level 70 weapon through Kanai's Cube and take out its level requirement.

Do I concentrate on bounties first or rifts first, or do I pretty much need to do them both? It seems like bounties take a bit to do, but obviously I'll run them if it's recommended. Is there anything else I should be doing in the meantime?

Allow players to hide their builds on leaderboards?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 08:33 AM PST

I played an enormous amount of D3, but never at a bleeding-edge, theory-crafting level.

And one thing that annoyed me (mainly on behalf of other players), is that as far as I'm aware, you can't hide your build/gear from other players, or at least have it hidden on leaderboards.

If a theory crafter devises some ingenious build and manages to progress further than anyone else, that person shouldn't come back next week to discover that 5,000 other players have copied his build because everyone went to the #1 spot on the leaderboard and copied that build.

Obviously you can't hide your gear from other people in your game instance, and your basic build will be obvious based on the skills you are using in game, but allowing people some amount of "private ownership" over a build they create would be beneficial.

Lessons from Seasons in D3 and D4

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 10:48 PM PST

So I've played seasons for the first time. Here are some observations and lessons for D3 and D4.

    1. Given that it took about 10 hours to make a usable build mostly with badly rolled non-ancients, to make a near BiS build with ancients, given that the drop rate is 10% of legendaries, and assuming it takes about 4 ancients of the same type to find a good one, it will take about 400 hours, slightly less if we account for better gear making higher GRs easier. Assuming it takes 300 hours, that's about 3.3 months at 3 hours a day. This also seems consistent with having played hundreds of hours of nonseason.

    2. A season lasts about 4 months. The length of a season determines a meta. Every season old builds become out of meta, and new builds become in-meta. People need to be able to make a good and usable build within a reasonable time length determined by the length of a season. If it takes years to build your character, your build will suck and be out of meta before you even finish building it. So given it takes almost the entire length of a season, 3.3 months with reasonable play time each day, to make a near BiS character, legendary drop rates in D4 can't be too much lower than D3. They could be lowered if offset by better ways to target the items you need to make your build, such as trading. This may seem surprising, since D3 drops a legendary roughly every 15 seconds of gameplay, but actually, good ancients drop like once every 20 hours of gameplay.

    3. Ancient items now seem to be a better idea than when they were first introduced. They give people a relatively quick way to get to play the build they want, just with lower numbers. But the gap between how long it takes to make a usable version of the build with ordinary legendaries, and a near BiS version is too large. For D4, it seems more reasonable that the drop rate is tuned such that it takes about 20 hours to make a usable version of a build (up from 10 hours), and 2 months at 3 hours a day (down from 3.3 months) to make a near BiS version, with a season lasting 4 months, and people playing new in-meta builds every 4 months.

    4. It took about 10 hours of gameplay to make a in-meta, good and usable build capable of doing GR90, and around 15 hours to get to GR110, which is somewhat close to the power of a nonseason character. Rerolling was not fun, I did not enjoy it. Splitting the community 33% to 66% (the proportion of nonseason and season games) is unnecessary when season reaches and eventually surpasses the power level of noneason so quickly. And given that everyone, including nonseason characters need to regear with the meta shifting due to the balance changes made every season, splitting season and nonseason is even more unnecessary. The season buff is so powerful that high GRs in public games are significantly easier on season than nonseason. The buff should not be restricted.

    5. It took about 30 minutes to get from level 1 to 70, from asking someone to powerlevel me on the Powerleveling community chat to completeing a few rifts to get to level 70. So restricting respeccing is dumb.

    6. The way you build your character is not a free choice. It depends on the legendaries that you find, which is random, you don't choose them. Whenever a powerful lengendary drops, I changed my build. Furthermore, different builds are created to be optimized for different endgame activities: solo GR pushing, group GRs, speed farming normal rifts, bounties, and in D4, PvP. This makes restricting respeccing insanely dumb, and directly counters the idea of having multiple endgame activities. In fact, it's repeating the same mistake of Classic WoW where people wanted to build shadow priests and ret pallies, but they were forced into healing for the good of the raid. People will be forced to make group specs they don't want to play for the sake of efficiency and the good of the group, while being restricted from the builds they do want to play.

    7. Group necro farming (rat runs) are overpowered. The most efficient way to play is to repeatedly do these runs. A group of necros can clear GR126 in 2-3 minutes, which is how people get 5000 paragon levels in a few weeks in seasons. And the fact that necros are paid, makes the game P2W. It also infects non-necro solo GR leaderboards as paragon is transferable. Nerf rat runs, cap main stat paragon, and bake the necro into the base game.

    8. The idea that self-found represents accomplishment and work is total nonsense. My season character in less than 10 hours of gameplay found a Primal Deathwish, one of the best possible items in the game, and my nonseason character with several hundreds of hours of gameplay has never found anything like that. Did my season character do anything to deserve it? No. Self-finding an item does not indicate you earned it in anyway, it indicates you fluked it. To buy items on an AH, you need to earn the gold to buy it, and that's more earned by playing the game over time bit-by-bit, as opposed to the RNG just randomly dropping you the best item. For example, take 1% of the items that would otherwise be generated through in-game drops, and put them them on a AH and allow people to bid on them. This isn't real trading, nothing is excahnged between people, it's all player to NPC, but it allows people to target items they need and work towards items.

    9. Power creep has become insane. Conquests based on 1-shotting bosses and speed running seems a bit degenerate. Instead of a endless cycle of buffs every season, stop the power creep by rotating in powerful affixes each season to change the meta, rotating them out at the end of the season, and rotating in new powerful affixes at the start of the next season. For example, Vulthuk's Rebuke makes Energy Twister go in a straight line and increases its damage by 400% this season, but instead of this being permanent, at the end of the season it should revert to a base level, say 50%, subject to balance.

I think Diablo immortal might become superior to D4

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 07:32 AM PST

I have watched so many different streamers play DI, most of them are pc players. I'm surprised at how much of positive comments I have heard. Most streamers even say that they play a lot off stream, and apparently a few blizzard members are on the top leaderboard.

Only a tiny portion of the game is revealed yet people have played it like 8h per day since 2 weeks back. When people played D4 last year I didn't hear as much positive feedback.

(I predict) once DI is on emulators, entire game with max resolution/fps it will beat D4 both in amount of players and amount of viewers on twitch. I believe it will become a hardcore fan game, similar to how oldschool runescape looks uglier and plays worse than RS3 yet remains popular.

I also believe that since DI wont use ladder reset because they view the game as a longterm project with constant new expansions, it will draw more players to that game since ladder reset like D3 and PoE is only for a small niche of players.
