Would you like to see charms in d4?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 06:27 AM PST

What if there were few dedicated slots for charms so they don't fill your whole inventory like in d2?

A single-player mod I made together with my brother

A single-player mod I made together with my brother

We made a mod for Diablo 2. It swaps around some skill tabs drastically changing barbarian, druid and paladin. It also makes golems and skeletal mages more viable. I hope you enjoy it!

I greatly recommend you play it with plugy (install plugy first).

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XRe40g8Jx-BuFtsYa0xQ-xdOG7ABlKh9/view?usp=sharing

Feel free to leave comments on fun ideas for future updates! :)

Edit: If you try it out, and find any glitches/bugs, please tell me about it. :) I have tested it myself, and there shouldn't be any major ones, but there could be something minor that I've overlooked.

Modden är helt klart ett julpyssel för det finns snö i spelet (jul) och det har massa effekter (pyssel).

    Quality of life changes:

    - Doesn't lose corpse on death.

    - Increase inventory and horadric cube size.

    - Increased drop and gambling rates (doesn't apply for runes).

    - Makes it possible to play on difficulties with more players (max 64): This is the pre 1.10 settings.

    - No need for gems in runes recipes.

    - Removed intro cutscene.

    - Edit: Mercenaries can now have belts, gloves, boots, amulets and one ring.

    - Akara now sells gems and runes at an expensive price:

-- Up to standard gems and the first three runes on Normal.

-- Flawless and perfect gems and up to Amn runes on Nightmare.

-- Up to Zod runes on Hell.

    - New horadric cube recipes:

-- Downgrade a magic or rare item to a normal one with one flawless gem.

-- Nine gems of the same type and level -> 1 gem of the same gem, but two levels higher.

    --- E.g. 9 chipped amethyst -> 1 standard amethyst.

-- Reroll sockets of an socketed item with one Ith, Ort and flawless gems.

-- Unsocket any items with one standard gems.

    - Replaced monster immunities with 95% resistances.

-- This also applies to superuniques (some superuniques have a random mod which can enhance resistance and make them immune).

-- Unique monsters and champions can still be immune.

    Major Changes:

    - Added new runewords (see runewords.pdf for all runewords).

    - Skill charges on unique items, set items and runewords are replaced with oskills.

    - Oskills on Wolfhowl are now regular skills.

    - Swapped skills between characters:

-- Switched shapeshifting (druid) with warcries (barbarian) (inspired by Wolfhowl).

-- Switched elemental skills (druid) with offensive auras (paladin).

-- Switched conviction (paladin -> druid) with Valkyrie (amazon).

-- Switched battle command (barbarian -> druid) with Shadow master (assassin).

    - Added new magic affixes (rares can also have these): 5% chance to cast level y z on hit.

    -- y = 5 (normal+), 10 (nightmare+), 15 (hell).

    -- z is all kinds of spells (required level 1-12 normal+, 18-24 nightmare+, 30 hell).

    -- Spells with reqquired level 1-6 drop with level 5-10 (normal+), 15 (nightmare+), 20 (hell).

    Changes to Barbarian:

    - Fire Claw only gets synergy from lycnthropy.

    Changes to Druid:

    - Allows druids to summon bear and wolves at the same time.

    - Druid is now a crazy support character, using auras, warcries and summoners.

-- Differs from skelemancer as it focuses on buffs instead of debuffs.

    Changes to Necromancer:

    - Allows necromancer to summon all golems at the same time.

-- The maximum number of each number is increased by one every 15th level (doesn't apply to iron golem).

    - Allows necromancer to summon all golems at the same time.

    - Skeletal mages' damage is increased by twice as much per level.

    - Revives are permanent.

    - Skeletal mages have more life:

-- (It seems like it originally got 7% more life per level, which is now increased to 10%).

--- This cannot be seen in the original game since it is not printed in the descriptions (SkillDesc.txt).

    - Summoning necros no longer need to use raise skeletons.

-- Try skelemages + fire golem + elemental weakness, or an all-out golem build.

    Changes to Paladin:

    - Conversion duration is increased by two seconds per level.

    - Enabled Holy Bolt and the Fist of the Heavens to damage all kinds of enemies (and not just undead).

    - Hurricane gets synergy from Zeal instead of Twister.

    - Zeal gets synergy from Hurricane instead of Sacriface.

    - Paladin focuses more on elemental damage, with insane combos like hurricane + zeal.

    Changes to Sorceress:

    - Meteor-delay is one quarter of the original.

    Installation guide:

    - Put the data folder and the two dll's into the Diablo 2 installation folder.

    - Run Diablo 2 from a shortcut with "-direct -txt" added to the target line (in the shortcut's preferences).

After 60+ hours.. here's literally everything we know about Diablo Immortal

I have owned Diablo 3 for years and still never played - idiots guide to get started?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 04:35 PM PST

Loved the original on PC in ye olden tiemz so this isn't a should I play question, I always meant to play, just never quite got around to it.

This might seem like a silly question but what do I do? Do I hammer through the campaign and then I can start "end game"? Is the campaign a sort of one and done sort of thing, after which I can make different characters and basically just kill things to my hearts content, try to kill bigger things? Start again each season and try to do better?

I enjoy online co op, is there any benefit or disadvantage to playing with others? Do you get the same stuff regardless? Does it make levels easier or does it scale difficulty for number of players?

    Thanks

(SPOILERS) Diablo Sin Wars Book one: Birthright

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 09:59 AM PST

Who would've thought that this book is so good. It starts off with a boring part, with a farmer and he meets girl blah blah blah, farmer also has a brother and 2 friends, Archer Achilios and Serenthia, they get attecked many times, and they survive them all, most of 'em anyway. Anyway my point is, from ordinary medieval time the book quickly escalated to a Nephalem and it was epic, especially the ending is thrilling!

Question about weapon attributes and damage types

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 08:27 PM PST

    Hi all. Newbie back again.

I have a weapon the deals +x-y lightning damage. It also has a buff that says lightning damage can turn enemies into lightning rods. The attack I am using though is fire damage.

Does the lightning damage from the weapon trigger the lightning rod effect even though I've changed the attack damage type to fire?

Ps I have also posted this in r/diablo3

Jewels - D2's most interesting socketed items and why D4 needs them

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 09:36 AM PST

    Why were Jewels good:

    • Socketed items with randomized properties
    • Come in different qualities (Magic, Rare, Unique)
    • Had the same effect regardless of where it is socketed in (reminder: gems provide different bonuses when inserted in different items)
    • Introducing more decision making when socketing items
    • A meaningful cog in the RNG loot hunt

One of the biggest gaping holes in D3's boring itemization has to be the socketing, personally speaking. I am yet to see a blander gem system. The Legendary Gems are just band aid. Regardless, in the early days of D3's development there was a promise that the gems would be more interesting and impactful in D3 compared to D2, but that was delivered. There were even brief mentions of "gem words", but as many other D3 feature it was left on the cutting floor never to be picked up again.

This is why D4 needs to expand on D2's brilliant design ideas. Specifically Jewels hold such a great potential for an ARPG. There could even be a crafting element related to them where you can combine 2-3 gem types + various other materials to form a Jewel out of them. Right now we know the socket slots completes with runes and gems, but I do hope Jewels get some attention as well. If Blizzard is afraid that Jewels could be too complex for new players, then just introduce them in the end-game and everyone is happy.

TLDR, What could Jewels mean for D4:

    • Extra layer of stat customization for stat breakpoints and more decision making for sockets
    • Crafting (both in terms of creating the Jewels themselves and stacking them on White/Blue items so they can compete with Rare/Legendary/Uniques) *
    • End-game progression (Upgradable Jewels/Specific Jewel Farm)
    • More interesting loot in a loot based game. Yay!

    ______________________________________________

*Another side note here: Before the latest D4 dev update, the devs were looking for a way to transfer Legendary powers to rare items, something like Jewels (a different socket item type) could have very well served that purpose for them.

    Diablo 3 need some advice.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 06:34 AM PST

So here is what my wizard is made of:

Tal-Rasha set: Helm, Amulet, Chest Armor,Gloves and the Source.

Vyr set: Shoulders, Feet and Legs

Weapon: In-Geom with 130% crit gem Rings: Manald Heal, Obsidian ring of Zodiac Belt: Fazula's Improvable chain Wrists: Nemesis Bracers

Legendary gems equipped: • Bane of stricken (Lvl 81) • Zei's Stone of Vengeance (Lvl 84) • Gogok of swiftness (Lvl 81)

I've got an Archon build and can easily do GR's level 80, but I want to know how I can improve my character to be able to do higher rifts.

Whenever I join public games they all do GR's level 100 and I'm simply too weak and keep dying.

Please give me some advice on what to do, whether to change gear or I don't know any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you want to see my full setup message me privately and I'll send pictures of my equipment and abilities.

Sorry for the long message and I'm hoping to hear from someone regarding this.

    Thank you.
