LoD Mammoth Hydra - Use well-rolled Legendaries or sub-optimal Ancients?

    Dear fellow wizards!

I play a seasonal wizard, slowly nearing 900 paragon.

For (supported) group play and farming, I wear the Ancient Cindercoat as shown and cube the Aquila Cuirass. In this setup, I can wear the Witching Hour Belt. I deal more damage this way, but I am also more vulnerable. These are my detailed stats in this setup.

For Solo GR pushing, to survive easier, I wear the Non-Ancient Aquila Cuirass and cube the Stone Gauntlets (of course also replace the Illusionary Boots with the Ice Climbers). If I use this build in (un-supported) group play as well, I need to wear Hergbrashes Binding instead of the WH belt to keep the Aquila buff up all the time.

    Comparison CC vs. AC.

Any recommendations in general regarding my build and the used equipment?

My main issue for this post is a dilemma for which I hope you can provide some insight or help. For some of the Legendaries I wear/wore, I found Ancient items that rolled worse (lack recommended stats). On the other hand, every Ancient I put on increases my Legacy of Dreams Damage multiplier. Is it worth to trade vital stats for LoD buff or should I wait for better rolled Ancients? Some of the examples are shown here:

Tasker and Theo - The Ancient one rolls CC or CHD, not both. Which one to wear?

The Witching Hour - I am losing on some Attack Speed but also 14% CHD when wearing the Ancient one. Which one suits me better?

Regarding Squirt's Necklace - I should definitely wear the Primal Ancient one, but should I go with +Fire Dmg as shown now or roll that to Crit Chance?

Bonus Question: Can I put these Primal Ancient Magefists to any good use or is the T&T pet buff just too good not to use? Or is there any use (when wearing the Aquila Cuirass) to not cube stone gauntlets but rather T&T and wear the Magefist?

Sorry for the long post, but there are many questions on my mind right now. Maybe I think too much about these things, but I want to bring the optimum oit of my build given the limited time that I can actuially play. I do have great fun every time I play the Lod Mammoth Hydra build, though.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Spirit Barrage WD has hit a wall

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 05:14 PM PDT

    Hey everyone,

I've been progressing my SB Witch Doctor nicely, until now where I've hit a bit of a wall at GR113. Just cleared it with about 20 seconds to go. Keen to get some advice on how to keep advancing.

I would post a link to my character but I'm on PS4 so I can't, but here's some details:

    • 1050 Paragon
    • 7 Augments (level 80-100)
    • Full ancients except for my Compass Rose, Traveler's Pledge and Ring of Emptiness
    • 149% roll on my Ancient Gazing Demise
    • 20% Cold skill dmg on both Amulet & Bracers
    • Decent rolls on gear - like 50 CHD, 9.5 CHC, 8 CDR, 950 INT gloves, and similar quality across most of my gear
    • 45% CHC & 450% CHD
    • Roughly 60% CDR and 30% RCR to go with my Captain Crimson's set
    • About 600k Health
    • Rubys in gear (Diamond in helm). I tried Topazs for more DPS but was way too squishy
    • Barber, Frostburn, RORG cubed
    • Passives: Grave Injustice, Confidence Ritual, Gruesome feast, Rush of Essence

I just feel like my DPS has really slowed as the HP of the monsters scale up fast now at these higher GRs.

Is the simple answer that I need more paragon and augments on gear?

    NEWb

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 10:37 AM PDT

Quick disclaimer: only new because I haven't played in years.

So I just got to 70 on my Seasonal HC Necro last night (just in time to watch my friend die at paragon 6 to Malthael) I'm trying to find the best way to get up into Torment difficulties without having to worry constantly. I'm not trying to push 150's or anything like that, just fairly casually get stronk. My current plan is to do bounties on Master or maybe T1 until I get some ancient set pieces and then try to do more of the seasonal challenges as those definitely will require work especially HC. Any advise on ways to get great rewards? What sort of things should I really be focusing on Cubing and gearing for?

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 04:09 AM PDT

Hey guys, I'm using a build from icy veins for the akkhan set with sage stuff in order to farm deaths breath and I can't keep a consistent damage output because i keep running out of resource, any idea how to fix it?

How do I obtain "Bone Ringer"? I am paragon level 49.

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 08:14 AM PDT

I was told it has a perk that compliments skeleton builds. However the user who told me this does not recall how they obtained the item.

    PoJ Tempest Rush build

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 12:09 PM PDT

Somehow, I have ended up being able to push higher with my PoJ TR build than the Sunwuko. It just feels better overall, faster and more resource-efficient, yet squishy around GR105.

Additionally, I have gotten an ancient Pig Sticker & Azurewrath but not sure the stats I should go for and currently, the axe feels quite nice with the bonus attack speed.

What would you replace, modify or change in this build?

    Pushing solo GR

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 10:12 AM PDT

    Hi all,

It's my first season since S4 and my first time ever playing WD (I love the mundu build).

I've been pushing solo with now 1499 paragons and I found that using Flavor of time + Unity vs Endless walk set seems to help me a lot. Have you guys tried this? Any pros and cons? I found that at this point, success is highly dependent on the maps, pylon spawns (to maximize bonus from FoT), skipping bad elites...

I've also swapped the rubies (armor) for amethysts (health) as BBV benefits a lot from a higher life pool for the life regen.

I'd like to hear from other players who have been pushing past solo GR120. What did you try? What worked for you and what didn't?
