Other games have kept me busy lately. However, the D3 is the game that'd need only a few adjustments to really shine:

Stash tab rewards for the season -I know the technical restrictions behind this, but really didn't seemed impossible to overcome as there is no trading in the game.
Interesting Season theme -This season's theme is not that good. I liked the buff from every legendary season. Maybe new could be something like: Season of Chaos Double elites and bosses outside grifts. For increased chaos and excitement all elites spawn with another elitepack or boss. Legendaries without legendary bonuses to gain ones The patch with some new legendary items was great and brave. Hoping to see some all around items once again.
New game mode would be neat I know this is a stretch, but I have always felt that D3's all difficulty is too heavily focused on greater rifts. A new challenging game mode could be a game changer. How difficult or would it be even possible to add bots with follower AI to SP or Open Bnet or LAN? I.e. you play a paladin, and load up 2 other bots to play a barbarian, and an Amazon? They fight and act like real players.
