100% Remaster vs Slightly remake: Which would you prefer?

    Posted: 10 May 2020 02:54 PM PDT

Do we really want another year of shako wearing hammerdins doing baalruns - now in HD - or do you hope Blizzard does anything to shake up the meta? Maybe just some QOL?

    Share your thoughts...

I'm personally cool with a 100% remaster, but at the same time i would really dig if the devs took some time to rewrite some of the gear. Basically now all characters together use maybe 3% of the same OP gear in the game based around 1.10 runewords leaving 97% of the uniques, sets and runewords to be complete useless in the end game. Even running through normal you dont care about most drops, because its all about getting those cheap and easy farmable runewords like spirit, leaf, stealth etc. that just gives too much bang compared to any other gear you can get up to late nightmare.

Diablo 2 Remastered : Reliable Rumours

    Posted: 10 May 2020 06:46 AM PDT

One of the most popular requests made by Blizzard's fans is a Diablo 2 Remastered.

In the past, Diablo's lead designer, David Brevik, speaking on the Diabloii.net podcast admitted that a project like that would be really difficult. However, according to Actugaming, there has been a leak about a Diablo 2 Remaster. A subsidiary of Activision called Vicarious Visions is working on a remaster scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year called Diablo 2 Resurrected.

Wife and I want to play Diablo 3! [PS4]

    Posted: 10 May 2020 05:44 PM PDT

I played Diablo 1/2 way back in the day and, now that my wife and I have a lot more free time, I wanted to reignite the flame and get her into the action.

Diablo 3 is a great fit as I've heard it's more accessible for new players and we can easily CO-OP on the same screen. We have a PS4 and went to the PS store to look it up.

To my surprise it is still $60. Didn't this game come out in 2012? Does anybody know if there is a sale or anything I can do to get it for a cheaper price? Not trying to penny pitch, but $60 seems a bit steep.

Again, I want my wife to have a good time with it, so I'm down to pay, but just curious of I'm missing something. Please let me know if y'all have any advice.

    Thank you kindly.

Underrated item - Blessed of Haull

    Posted: 10 May 2020 09:29 AM PDT

Power gamers might downvote me to hell, but I love Blessed of Haull. I've used it on almost every crusader I've ever played. Not only does it make range viable as a Crusader but it gives you a wrath-free way of dealing impressive damage.

There's no room for it in any of the builds that get you to the higher GR levels but man it's fun to play.

A new take on a old build smiter hammer hybrid

    Posted: 10 May 2020 02:08 PM PDT

The 1 point smiter build had been around for a long time now and it's great but it has a huge flaw.

Not everyone can afford godly gear with high runes like grief and have to rely on black or other lower tier gear.

This guide is for people who want a smiter hammerdin hybrid not a hammerdin smiter hybrid. The difference being the priority is smiting capabilities over highest damage hammers. Teleport will not be used and FCR target is only 48.

This guide is also aimed at players on plugy vs bnet although it should work for both just understand testing was done on plugy where less monsters spawn in Tristram.

We will start with skill distribution assuming a character level of 85. 84+12=96 skillpoints

    Defensive skills

None, although I love vigor the skill points are too tight and you can't afford to waste points on pre reqs.

    Offensive skills

1-might. (pre reqs) 20- blessed aim (for hammer dmg) 20-concentration ( for hammer dmg) 20-fanatism (for smite damage, provides faster kill time than maxing Holy shield first tested) =61

    Combat skills

1-holy bolt 1-smite 1-charge (lack of vigor use this for faster movement) 20-blessed hammer (primary clearing tool to Ubers) 12-holy shield (increases survivability and smite dmg) =35

    Gear list

Helm: Guillaumes or rockstopper both are great cheap smite helms so whatever you find first. Personally I'm using a rockstopper for the added survivability socketed with a 15 all res jewel or um rune.

Ammy: highlords, cats eye, Mara's, or on a real budget even a crafted all res ammy can do the trick (6 pgems + magic ammy in cube).

Armor: smoke runeword nef+lum is a great option offers 50 all res and other useful mods. If you can't get a lum then use what you have but this is super cheap.

Weapon: spirit weapon and shield on swap for hammers Fcr does not matter as all you need is 48. And you'll have minimum 50.

If you can afford to reroll spirit a couple times you can hit the 75fcr breakpoint by rolling 32+ 33+ for 65fcr and a 10fcr ring or ammy. The build works without 75fcr hammers but it does help.

On swap: black runeword for the crushing blow (thul io nef) very easy and cheap runeword. I build it in a knout if I can but a flail works too.

Wiz spike is another slower option lacking crushing blow but huge resist and fast attack speed.

Crushflange is another great cheap option.

For the shield I recommend a 30+ all res pally shield with 4 pdiamonds in it. For huge resist.

Inventory keep a lifetap wand swap it in place of spirit when facing Ubers and Lilith. But not always needed for duriel or izual.

Rings: Raven Frost and the second is optional 10fcr ring if you want that 75fcr break point. I keep a manald in hand for baals mana drain. SOJ is always nice. Tons of options here just make sure you have a Raven Frost for the cannot be frozen.

Gloves: dracs <-- laying of hands <-- IAS or resist gloves Laying of hands is what I've been using during testing and is great.

Boots: goblin toes is a amazing set of boots with 25cb if you can't find these or for riders aldurs or other boots for resist can work.

Belt: crafted blood belt for open wounds ( only way to stop Ubers from healing YOU NEED THIS!) Gamble for a magic belt/mithril coil/mesh belt throw it in a cube with Tal rune and a pruby and a jewel. Open wounds last a while so while 10% is ideal 5% chance is fine roll however many times you can but don't worry if you only roll a 5% it's a negligible difference.

Stat points are obvious STR for gear dex to max block the rest into vitality.

For a 6 frame smite you need 129ias for 7 frame you need just 60. This is calculated based on a black knout. Whatever weapon you use will change this but you can use a online calculator to figure it out.

Calculate your total IAS including IAS on the weapon your wielding+ fanatisms % and any other gear that adds ias like gloves ammy etc. If your a little short remember you can add a 15ias jewel to your helm instead of a all res but this breakpoint with a 20p fanta shouldn't be hard to reach.

Good luck guys and if you have any questions or criticisms please post below and I will be happy to clarify or discuss the build. Cheers!

Diablo 4 Talent Calculator (Sorceress only)

    Posted: 10 May 2020 07:55 AM PDT

Diablo 4 Talent Calculator (Sorceress only)

TLDR: Talent calculator for Diablo 4 Sorceress: https://github.com/AsAr2250/D4TalentCalculator

(Posted this on Diablo 4 Subreddit already but this sub has more members so I'm copying it. Sry for spam.)

    How to run:

    - Make sure you have a python interpreter (install it on Windows or simply be on Linux/MacOS)

    - Install pandas (might not be necessary in future but gave me some convenience for now)

    - Download / clone files from https://github.com/AsAr2250/D4TalentCalculator

    - run via python main.py or by double-clicking main.py

So as I'm home 24/7, I recently watched all D4 Videos of MrLlamaSC and Rhykker and got pretty hyped for the game even though it's still far away. I like customizing characters and doing the math on talents so I looked for an online talent calculator. Since I couldn't find any I made one myself and thought I'd share. If you have issues running the program feel free to comment or write me a PM.

    Feedback appreciated!

Diablo II on Windows 10 - Unhandled Exception: Breakpoint (80000003)

    Posted: 10 May 2020 03:24 AM PDT

I am trying to run Diablo II on Windows 10, but it does not work. After installation and running I get the following error:

"This application has encountered a critical error:

Not enough storage is available to process this command.

    Program: D:\Games\Diablo II\Game.exe

    File: .\SOURCE\SFILE.CPP

    Line: 1411"

Upon exiting the error window another one appears which says: "Unhandled Exception: Breakpoint (80000003)"

I tried searching the Internet for a fix, but so far nothing has worked. People seem to have encountered error c0000005, but it is NOT what I get (I get 80000003).

Here is more context along with what I tried so far:

    - I downloaded and installed Diablo II from the Blizzard website - it is the digital release (I do not have optical drive in my current computer so I cannot install from CD)

    - I tried running the application as the administrator

    - I tried setting the compatibility mode to previous Windows versions (98 and XP with SP3)

    - I tried adding the "-w" parameter to run Diablo II in windowed mode

    - I tried adding the "-3dfx" parameter along with a downloaded Glide wrapper

    - I tried adding the "-opengl" parameter

    - I tried adding Diablo II to a list of DEP exceptions

None of the above actions helped - if you play Diablo II on Windows 10 and you downloaded and installed it from the Blizzard store, please let me know what you did to make it work. Thank you in advance for all your replies.

    Noob Requiring Help

    Posted: 10 May 2020 08:34 AM PDT

I just decided to pick up Diablo II after having it gather dust on my shelf for 10 years or so, and I find myself lacking any kind of memory on how to play this game and what the endgame was like and if I should mod it or not. So, I'm here now after completing the base game with my Barbarian and I'm in a need for a "Beginner's Guide for Diablo II" Basically and yes I do own Lord of Destruction.

What kind of character should I make in Diablo 2?

    Posted: 10 May 2020 12:50 PM PDT

Mostly ever made sorcs, but you can't beat the game that way.

Never made a druid before so I'm leaning that way.

    Not interested in assassins.

Should be viable for max level play.

Hoping for a mini-celebration by the end of June

    Posted: 10 May 2020 03:01 AM PDT

After seeing that the Diablo IV update of Q2 will come out by the end of June (being quarterly updates one would assume that they would come out by the middle of the quarter, not at the very end), the arise of rumors about a Diablo II Remake on the works and the official plans to start beta testing for Diablo Immortal in the middle of this year, I'm starting to hope that Blizzard would do some kind of mini-celebration by the end of June.

On June 29th it's Diablo II's 20th anniversary, and although it's not the series' anniversary, it's a very loved game and have lots of active players even 20 years after its release. It would be cool to have an eventful week with news, announcements or something along the lines.

    What do you think?

    So I killed Baal..

    Posted: 10 May 2020 10:20 AM PDT

Now what? I got items that weren't relevant to me, a neat "slayer" title and the option of playing on nightmare. Is that the D2 version of D3 torment? I also read that you're supposed to clear bosses again for items, but I finished in level 36 and now even the Act 1 critters have the hp of Act 5 monsters.
