Skills with longer cooldowns feel clunky in arpgs, I hope they reconsider having them in D4

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 12:40 AM PST

When you take into account that you don't have many skill slots, one being dedicated to a skill that can be used every 30 seconds or few minutes (if it is some transformation that buffs you) just doesn't feel so good. What do you think about skills with long cooldowns?

The Inquisitor: a new class concept

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 06:00 PM PST

Kurast has been fouled beyond repair. The surviving Zakarumites abandoned the holy city and fled across the sea, seeking a place to escape the evil that penetrated the hearts of even their most devoted followers. A group of the survivors are granted sanctuary with the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye as they rebuild from their own conflicts with the Burning Hells. From the two orders, a new oath is born, to be the watchful eye. To ensure that evil is stomped out the moment it overwhelms the heart. The inquisitors were born. Trained in holy techniques to hunt evil and all its minions, inquisitors apply a plethora of weapons and light magic to zealously erase all things that foul Sanctuary. These hunts are seldom kind on the psyche of the inquisitors, some fall to darkness in overwhelming anxiety or greed. Those who do must be handled, the burden being placed on the shoulders of other inquisitors.

This class covers a holy, armored, and ranged archetype, leaving the remaining class(es) open to several possibilities. With the weapon/wereform swapping on skills being a pretty good gameplay mechanic, this could utilize that for a mesh of melee and ranged skills. I don't know, it might feel a bit of a jack of all trades which might not appeal to most. What do you think?

Wizards...will this be the season where we don't have to go archon to go past grift 120?

Is this the season where we finally get to stop doing an archon build?

Wanting to purchase the eternal collection on Xbox One. I have questions about the game.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 08:16 PM PST

I'm thinking of purchasing Diablo 3 in anticipation of immortal coming out. I had the game before but never really played and got rid of it. My question is this. What type of updates do they do on the console version? I know I've seen Diablo making post about new items but never really paid attention. Is it mostly just gear updates? I think I seen something about season 20 coming also. What does a new season update usually contain and would it be available for console? Thanks for any information.

    Wizard not strong enough

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 12:03 PM PST

I'm clearing GR45+ solo with the Vyr set/archon build, squirts necklace (amulet), and my bracers and rings aren't great enough to mention (compass Rose and litany of the undead) doing 500k base damage, crits are in the billions. Oh yeah I'm using chantodos weapon set for archon and I just can't seem to reach any higher rift. Are they cube powers I can extract to help?

Let me be proud of my loot

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 04:43 AM PST

The most important thing that keeps me hooked to the arpg genre is the feeling that every minute I spend slaying monsters could change my whole experience and make my day/week/month by dropping an extremely rare item.

Please consider this topic in D4. Nothing is more satysfaying than dropping some ultra rare stuff that almost no one has.

D3 had that Ramalandi's Gift which isnt even close to the feeling when you see Mirror of Kalandra in PoE.

Also as for rares/legendaries let the generator create crazy ultra-rare combinations. High rolls combined with some rare affixes together which only extremely lucky ppl would get. As for D3 there were just a generic rares not even interesting at all. No one but the blacksmith actually even cared about them and their stats. I wanna show off the godly weapon to my friends and make them jealous.

Let me be proud of my loot. Let my friends be jealous of my findings.

    About poison dagger

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 03:44 AM PST

So i read the poison calculation rule on some website hoping it would be true and ok with my version of the game.

Then i read some forums to make sure i understood well.

Either those guys on forums don't get it, or i don't get it.

    So :

Poison dagger when used while under venom cast adds all the rates of poison dagger, venom, and all + poison items.

Then the length for which the rates is applied is that of poison dagger skill+0.4secs

Because 1) venom cancel all items lengths 2) venom and dagger together adds length

Without venom, poison dagger and items (each socket count as one source) rates are added, but lengths are averaged, which make any source of poison with a length under that of dagger less likely to increase total damages, except if excellent rate (i will never do the calcul for those sources, just choose with feeling^^). Also, any source that have a great length (>than that of dagger), will improve the total damage, even with a really bad rate.

In conclusion, with venom, any source is a good thing. Also, if you have some sources that have a great length, maybe venom decrease your total damages.

So depending on what length are the source you find, what length your dagger either skill or oskill is, you might have to choose wheter using venom or not.

Finally, the character sheat damages printed are bullshit.

    My wishes for D4

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 08:15 AM PST

Let me start by saying that I haven't read up on anything "official" from Blizz regarding D4. So some of what I say may have already been talked about/shot down/confirmed/what-have-you

    1) Bring back skill trees - AND - Don't limit the number of skills/spells I can bring out into the field.

The 6 spell limit is dumb as fuck. I don't want to play WoW, I don't want to play Guild Wars. I want any spell I have chosen or put points into to be accessible. In D2, we had 16 keys we could assign to skills. Bring them back.

Also, bring back the trees. I want to make builds. I want to plan my stats and skills for a specific build. If I want to try another build, I can always add another character. And stop complaining, you all blow off the level 1-70 progression anyway and speed-run your way to "end-game". Speed running another variant of a char type is no big deal.

    2) Bring back user-allocated stats. Don't do this for me. Get rid of the "default stats" per class. If I want to make a Melee Sorc with high Dex and Str, I should be able to. If I want to make a Caster Barb with Mana up the ying-yang, I should be able to.
Let me decide what my character will evolve into, even if it doesn't fit the meta or my char stands no chance of completing the full game.

    3) Bring back Crafted Items and Rune Words. Crafted Items gave solo players a way to get some guaranteed specs. Rune Words were just fun, plain and simple. Especially when 1.10 added cross-class skill abilities. Those made the game super-fun to play without breaking things.

    4) Party size. After years of 8-man parties in D2, you give us.... a 4-man limit in D3? What the hell was that? Bump the party size back up. And for gods sake, STOP with the narrow hallways on maps. They make life hell for a 4-man group, let alone even more.

OK, that's all for now. I'm sure I could think of more, but those are the ones that are real important to me.
