Question: Which CoE is better for my Monk?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 03:30 PM PST

Option A: Primal +650 Strength +50% Crit Damage +6.0% Crit Chance +475 Dexterity (Caldesann's Despair Rank 95) +210 Cold Resist +200% Elemental damage

Option B: Ancient +622 Dexterity +46% Crit Damage +5.0% Crit Chance +505 Dexterity (caldesann's Despair Rank 101) +205 Physical Resist +166% Elemental damage

I thought option B might be better because it was naturally rolled with Dexterity on it, where as option A is rolled with Strength because it dropped while I was playing Barb and instead of rolling the strength off I rolled something else for +50% Crit Damage. I tried it out (B) and it just felt like my flurry bomb was noticeably missing that extra 34% elemental damage. I'm thinking the 622 Dexterity does not make up the difference in damage? But when I went back to Option A the primal, I thought I could confirm this, that the flurry bomb was more effective with the extra elemental damage but I just wasn't sure. Any input is greatly appreciated! TIA

    Weekly Consolidated Gear Advice Thread

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 08:05 AM PST

To reduce clutter on this subreddit, please post your gear check questions in this thread only.

Please note that independent gear check threads will be deleted with a note to copy/paste that gear check here.

In order for others to provide useful feedback on your gearcheck, you MUST include the following information:

    • Your desired build

    • A link to your battle.net profile

    • A description or screenshot of how your paragon points are spent

    • A description of your what you want to accomplish with the gearcheck - e.g. your goals and/or problems - a grift difficulty level, ubers, a specific build or playstyle, etc.

    • An in-game screenshot of your stats with the details tab open is recommended, but not required - if we can see your dps, toughness, all resist, armor, hp, cc, cd, etc. as you see it in-game, it's easier for us to help you.

If you use printscreen and paste, it will show your desktop. But if you use printscreen and go into your Documents/Diablo III/Screenshots folder, you will find the in-game screenshot.

ANY post that does not include this information may not receive a response.

In addition, if you haven't done so already, take a look at the guides in our sidebar. Many of your questions will have been answered there.

Thank you, and may your sentries clear a path to victory!

Please note: The consolidated gear check posts are created every week (Tuesday) at approximately 2 PM GMT (7 AM Eastern)

    Disintegrate Wizard Help

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 07:57 AM PST

I've been playing a disintegrate and meteor wizard and am really enjoying the way it plays. I'm looking for some advice so I can try to run higher GRs. I've completed up to 84 with this current set up and am looking to improve. Currently about paragon 700 (don't exactly remember).

I use disintegrate/convergence as my main damage dealer and then use meteor/Thunder crash (because I like the lack of delay) proc'd from my etched sigil.

The main damage boost is from LoN ring set and trying to have ancient equipment everywhere. I'm still missing ancient set rings and an ancient etched sigil for my slots.

    Cube: Deathwish/Nilfurs Boast/Halo of Karini

    Other skills: - Magic Weapon/FW - Familiar/Sparkflint - Slow Time/Time Warp - Storm Armor/Thunder Storm

Passives: Power Hungry, Glass Cannon, Unstable Anomaly, Dominance

Gems: Taeguk, Bane of the Trapped, Zei's

Other equipment: Mantle of channeling, Dark Mages Shade, Squirts, LoN, Aquila Cuirass, Etched Sigil, Sever (only high damage ancient weapon I have), Irontoe Mudsputters, Blackthorns Jousting Mail, Ashnagarr's blood bracers, Tasker and Theo (only ancient gloves), Hergbrash's Binding

My plan going forward is to try to get an ancient Deathwish that I can equip which would open up that cube spot for something else like Thunder fury, the furnace, soulsmasher or the grand vizier. Same thing with getting an ancient Nilfurs Boast for boots. Other goals are to get an ancient magefist, ancient crown of the primus, ancient etched sigil and ancient set rings. Then augmenting as we go along as well.

I'm curious if anyone has any advice to tweak this set up. In particular I am wondering if I should use a different gem besides bane of the trapped. This was more useful I think when I was using blizzard and meteor for the freeze effect, but now I just use meteor alone.

Thanks! I appreciate all the help!
