    can't wait to see act 3 D2:re

    Posted: 20 Apr 2021 05:04 AM PDT

the layout is weird and the enemies are sometime...boring.
when i enjoy jungle theme...i think the environment is the same ...it feel like it is.
this act, this is the one i less remember...we all know that this is the least favorite one but...

    BUT!

im pretty sure with some more details and a new graphic overhaul..this one may be one of the best.
i tried the alpha and some area is soooo much different than the feeling is very very different.
DONT GET ME WRONG, that dont change the game at all...dont worry its just the same game but better ;)
So...are you with me? why you hate act 3? do you think we can love it more in the remaster or not?

I think I've solved the mystery of who the voice actor for Farnham in Diablo 1 is...

    Posted: 20 Apr 2021 04:06 PM PDT

So about two weeks ago, I posted this thread to ask about the voice actor who did the voice for Farnham in Diablo 1.

As you can see, I posted it in the sub dedicated to Diablo 2: Resurrected because it was my belief that there would be a higher concentration of veteran and oldskool Diablo players there, who on average will be much more knowledgable of the game than the average reddit user who would be found at other Diablo-related subs.

It turned out that this was a sought after piece of info by many people, and, indeed, if you do search around various Diablo-related boards and subreddits, you will indeed find that many many people have asked that question in the past, yet no one has managed to provide an answer.

In my own thread linked to above, the user /u/lordpermaximum expressed almost complete certainty that the voice acting for Farnham was done by... Bill Cosby !!!

He bases that certainty on his own personal memories of close involvement with the development of Diablo 1 and his closeness to some members of Blizzard's staff PLUS an additional source on some other Diablo 2 board, which seemed to back up his point.

That "almost complete certainty" was just that, though: almost.

Said user eventually went on to express a little doubt about his certainty that it was Bill Cosby.

Well, I decided to approach this question from an analytical angle, by thinking about WHOM ELSE in the Diablo universe Farnham's voice reminded me the most...

...The answer I came up with, at least to my own ears and perceptions, was... Lysander, Lut Gholein's alchemist.

The actor voicing him is a really old-school classy guy named Frank Gorshin.

Incidentally, he also happens to be the one gving the voice to Marius...

Now, what's the similarity between these two characters?

Well, they are both old, mentally quirky, and substance-abusing.

Can you already tell where this is going... ? ;]

Well, I searched through the various roles that Frank Gorshin has performed throughout the years, looking specifically for ones where he plays someone who's drinking, or is a drunk.

One movie I picked out was "Invasion of the Saucer Men", from 1957.

Choice cut just for you -- Gorshin is the one in the black suit, standing.

Feel free to seek throughout the rest of the reel -- Gorshin features prominently all throughout it. And listen to the way he talks and pronounces certain words, and inflects his voice in certain ways at certain points.

Well... have we got our guy, finally? :O

    What makes a good charm?

    Posted: 20 Apr 2021 08:19 AM PDT

What makes a small charm, large charm & Grand Charm a keeper? I watch a lot of speed runners but they don't explain the break points and what the ultimate "Charm" is.

For example I like the 1-6 additional lightning damage small charms. But I am positive this is a bad long term choice. Could someone explain what I should be looking for please?

    D2 on Mac?

    Posted: 20 Apr 2021 05:24 PM PDT

    Hi all-

Is there any possible way to play Diablo II on Mac? Or, hope against hope, OG Diablo?

News of Resurrection has my nostalgia spiking real hard.

Thanks in advance, even if the answer is a resounding 'no'.

[Diablo 3] Kormac's unease dialogue not appearing, is it bugged?

    Posted: 20 Apr 2021 04:19 PM PDT

I'm trying to get all conversation's achievements but this one seems to be bugged in the current patch.

Allegedly, you must talk to the templar in ACT V - Souls of the dead BEFORE starting the quest given to you by Tyrael (so not speaking to Tyrael, but to the Templar instead).

I've done that in different characters, RESETED the entire story line and redone it, etc but the conversation is STILL not popping up. Watched a dozen of videos and they do ALL the same: Login - set the quest at the start, talk to the templar - Done.

I don't get the option to get this dialogue.

I am attaching a video link to show it:

    https://medal.tv/clips/50105153/d13374Zt9W7I

Here a video "guide" sample where the guy gets the "Kormac's unease" dialogue instead of my random "The corruption of the templars", which shouldn't appear UNTIL "The harbinger" quest (2 quests later)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szliMAwf3Io&ab_channel=EddiMax (first 30-40 seconds shows it)

Someone that does not have this achievement can confirm this please? (or if you have it, can you confirm the dialogue still appears for you?)

    Diablo 2 doesn't work on Windows 10

    Posted: 20 Apr 2021 11:51 AM PDT

    Hey everyone!

So recently my dad found his old Diablo II installation disk and tried installing it on his laptop, which is running Windows 10. The installation was successful (I think). Then an error popped up saying the disk had to be inserted for it to be able to run, the disk was already inserted though. The error was fixed by enabling compatibility mode (Windows XP SP3), but the game still didn't boot.

When trying to boot the game, we hear the disk spinning. The screen also turns low resolution with a lower aspect ratio, but goes back to normal in about 5-10 seconds, the disk also stops spinning at the same time.

I tried running it as an admin but that also didn't help. I eventually tried installing patch 1.14d from an archive (which I have checked the signature of and have scanned it on Virustotal), but no results.

Any help would be helpful, because my dad is pretty bummed about it and I wanna cheer him up.

    Thanks in advance!

PS: Sorry if there are any spelling mistakes, English isn't my native language :)

    Connecting to D2 Bnet server

    Posted: 20 Apr 2021 09:31 AM PDT

Anyone else having issues connecting? I have the latest patch, I was able to connect until last night. I havent been able to connect since. I've restarted my router and computer and no changes. Sometimes it gets hung up on "checking versions" and ends up with "battle.net is not responding. please try connecting again in a few minutes". This is for NA East server.
