Is it possible that we see the "uncut" version of the D4 Cinematic Trailer at the Digital Blizzcon early next year?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 01:01 PM PDT

Some of the D4 devs talked about that they had to "tune down" the grittiness of the D4 Cinematic Trailer, during Blizzcon 2019.

You actually can see that parts of it were cut out (at least that is what it looks to me), like at 5:37 you don't see directly how the Rogue is having his blood sucked out of his chest (or even how his chests bursts open).

It looks to me like the camera got zoomed in a bit more to hide that on purpose, but footage of that scene with a more zoomed out camera might actually exist.

You also don't see more closeups of what happens to the Brute.

Maybe we can get the whole, "uncensored" and "uncut" cinematic during the Digital Blizzcon early next year?! What do you think?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 05:59 PM PDT

Does anyone happen to know how servers work for people in Latin America? Are they working, could it be super lagged for us?

If anyone's kind enough to give the briefest or summaries about what's the best way to play with friends diablo 2 I would be super thankful.

    Enchanting

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 02:37 PM PDT

Hello, I'm recently new to Diablo and I got 2 bis pieces for wizard, and I went to go enchant them to get sockets but I wasn't aware how it worked entirely and I replaced a secondary property. Is there anyone I can revert that? Or am I just boned and I have to get the 2 pieces again.

I just don't know how to up my game to the next level.

My main is a Captain America Sader build. But have leveled each race to 70 as well.

An idea I had for how one could maybe use runes in D4 for both the old and the new runeword systems simultaneously

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 07:17 AM PDT

Since people have been discussing runes and runewords again lately, I figured I could bring up an idea I've been thinking about.

When D4 was first revealed at Blizzcon last year and their new trigger & effect runeword system was revealed, I think a lot of people saw the potential in it (at least assuming they expand on the concept), but at the same time many were seemingly disappointed that the old D2-style runeword system had been replaced. Personally though, I think that's the wrong way to look at it. I don't think the two ideas have to be mutually exclusive at all; as long as you come to recognize the fact that what D2 had was ultimately just a roundabout type of crafting system (I.E: a recipe for a list of materials + an item base = a new item), then really they should fall into different categories as far as D4 is concerned. D4's new runeword design is much closer to Path of Exile's linked skill and support gem system. We know that D4 will have a crafting system, and so what D2 had can definitely make a comeback there depending on what kind of items will be craftable and what materials they will utilize. Either way, the fact that D4 has a new runeword system should not have to interfere with this fact.

Now originally I'd just been thinking that Blizzard would come up with some new type of materials for item crafting instead of runes since they're used for the new runewords now, but the more I thought about it, I eventually figured that if you really wanted to you could actually combine the two.

Imagine this: let's say we have 50 different possible types of triggers for the new runewords and 50 different types of effects. They could either have a fixed magnitude for the affixes for each type of rune or some sort of roll range (that's a different discussion), but either way every rune type would still need its own name for identification purposes. That would give us 100 different rune types in total. So then let's say that all runes that trigger when you fall below x% hp are El runes and that all runes which give you +y life regen over z seconds as an effect are Thul runes, just for example. In that case, if you put those two runes into a 2-socket item you'd get the logical runeword combination like we saw in the Blizzcon demo. But now imagine that these exact same rune types would also be used as crafting materials alongside an item base to be able to craft legendary items similar to how runewords worked in D2. If we already have an easy classification system for runes as well as a crafting system then why not simply use the same runes for crafting legendaries as well? You'd retain what D2 had (albeit in a different format), get the new interactive and customizable runeword system that Blizzard is already working on, and now you'd also have to make choices regarding which runes you're better off using in custom runewords and which would be better used for crafting new items with. You could even have Horadric Cube-like recipes within said crafting system for transforming a couple runes of the same type into a new type just like D2 had if you want (if you were to create a similar tier system for the new runes that is).

Assuming that Blizzard does the obvious and expand D4's current runeword design so that it works with multiple trigger and/or effect runes at once for longer runewords with more sockets (hard to imagine that they wouldn't), then for the more complex cases I think this could lead to a lot of interesting decision making. Should I use these runes I'd been saving to make a customized runeword that fits my build with this 4-socket chest piece I just found, or should I instead use these runes to craft this cool legendary shield I'd been saving for? Etcetera. Of course you could just run with separate loot tables for crafting and runewords (still the more likely option), but I just wanted to throw out this idea as well because it wouldn't really be any more difficult to implement if people think it's a more interesting design philosophy. If nothing else I think it would be pretty cool thematically.

Diablo 3 Roguelite, ready for testing!

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 02:58 AM PDT

    Good day, fellow Nephalem!

Me and my friend have developed a new meta game for diablo 3, called Diablo 3 Roguelite. I'm sure that long time Diablo fans could really enjoy this new perspective for this old game.

It's not about end game grind, but instead making it all about brutally hard, constantly changing and interesting leveling process.

The idea is that you'll get randomized rules for your leveling progress from 1 to 70, and for every 10 levels there are phases that will generate more rules and ramp up the difficulty.

When (if) you get to level 70, you'll get the final challenge, and if you complete it, you have beaten the game with that difficulty.

And of course, the ultimate challenge is to eventually beat the game on Inferno difficulty.

This Roguelite works best if you saved one region's HC Season (or non season if it's empty) for this only, so you can start a legit Roguelite journey. With every death, you start the next round more resourceful.

The game is now ready for beta testing and we would love to get everyone's feedback on how we should develop this game onward.

    Check it out at d3roguelite.com

[Wishful thinking] Everybody's trying to find hidden clues that lead to who is the 4th class in Diablo 4... while its not even hidden, its right in our face... and our ears

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 12:39 PM PDT

The Diablo 4 Trailer not only shows us who is the 4th class, it puts it forward as a narrator.

    Hell is coming brother

There is no better story teller than our 4th class, The Horadrim

There is also no better class idea than the Horadrims to fight demons and push them back to hell, especially Greater Evils. Hell! its even greater than pushing them back to their home, we are against the creator of humankind and Sanctuary, the Horadrim knowledge is a must.

In the trailer the man we see is the class we will be able to play, a Horadrim, last of his kind. The grave he is talking to can be Deckard Cain's or Tyrael's. Both having hard ties to the Horadrims, One being "The Last Horadrim" and the Other the creator of the BrotherHood, it would justify the "Brother"

If Cain's, this could be the ultimate apology to the fans for killing Deckard Cain in such a classless and tasteless way. Bringing back an Horadrim in the landscape of the game and showing us their true nature, what they are capable of, Fighters and Scholars, unlike the idea we got of them from Cain that was 100% scholar, an exception. If we are to see Horadrim back in the fight showing us what they are capable of, might as well be us to be in control

    1) I can see this character as maybe a disciple of Cain that went traveling in search of hidden knowledge and the old Horadrim ways or even maybe a Rogue Horadrim that thought Not only Heavenly power can be wielded against Evil, but also dark magic and got exiled for this (Note: Deckard Cain had a son, Jered, who supposedly died young in a highway robbery, would be interesting if he was actually abducted and came back to his father only to see him passed away)

    Or

    2) It can be Lorath Narh, one of the surviving members of the New Horadrim Tyrael created in Diablo 3 to safeguard the Blacksouldstone

The Horadrim could be a masters of the artifacts, Infuse your weapon with Powerful Scroll incantations and the wisdom they hold, he can use those to fight evil.

ie: Enchanting weapons on the floor to fight with you, like in POE with Animated weapons. We actually encounter animated weapons in form of Flying scimtar in Diablo 2's Tal Rasha tomb, a Horadrim construction.

While Barb have Fury, Sorceress has mana and Druid has Spirit, The Horadrim could use monsters soul/life force against them, having a Worldstone shard as a "Ressource" container. It could have a gameplay somehow between the Paladin and the Assassin

This would bring so much lore and flavour to the game rather than a boring Generic class
