D4: leveling, what if "endgame" is accessible prior to reaching max level like in d2 or poe?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 10:33 AM PST

as opposed to what we have in d3 or wow that it is predetermined to must have leveld to max level in order to play the endgame?

what if you only need to unlock it and if you personally feel ready you should try endgame content and fail or succeed?

in d2 hell was gated behind level 60, but once reaching 60 you could theoretically participate in all the game had to offer and all level grinds beyond that was a bonus (same for poe)

    edit: before ppl missunderstand this:

its not about creating a shortcut or making it easier or faster to reach "endgame", no i believe the time to reach endgame should still be the same, just that endgame should not be based on the character reaching max level

Why does everybody like Seasons so much?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 07:01 PM PST

Why do people like seasons? Like whats the point of leveling up ur character, grinding hours and finding the greatest amour when is a few months time ur gonna have to throw it aside and make a new character for the next season ? It just feels like a waste of time. I know theres non seasonal characters but like in diablo 3 nobody played that and i never could find a match with anyone. The diablo 2 system was good. Just takeaway seasons and make the level cap extremely high

Fastest way to level 46+. New account?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 04:20 PM PST

Long story short. New account, havent played in years. Wandering the fastest way to level. Im level 46, just hit act V. Dunno if I should level here, or try and rush this act and get to bounties. Im on hard for extra exp, but once I hit act V my kill speed has significantly decreased. Dunno if i should drop to normal to knock out act v or just keep goin. Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks guys!

Key Dungeon Difficulty - What do you think?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 12:05 PM PST

ONE thing I haven't heard much about - is the Dungeon difficulty. Infinitely scaling dungeons literally ruin the gameplay. It just scales and scales making only the best of best builds even viable. Just like in D3 there is no end. No finite progression. This t leaves you unsatisfied and with no motivation to start a new character. IMO.

I think the Dungeons should go back to the traditional difficulty. Normal, Nightmare, Hell - Dungeons. If we collect a certain set of keys within those dungeons - it unlocks a Hero Hub-world, where quests are given for Stat boost, Tomes, Cosmetics - which allows 1 - 8 players with scaling difficulty just like in D2. Completely free-roam. DLC could add new Hero worlds, cosmetics, quests, stories within the world. The only thing similar is Tristram (stony field) and Old Tristram within D3.

This should be the Meta End Game.

9 - Different Keys - 3 - key sets (really low drop rate)

    3 - Hero worlds.

    3 - different cosmetic rewards.

    9 - different quests.

Let's put our thoughts here. What would you guys change? What does everyone else want to see for the MEta Endgame? I really don't want "rifts" Let's all brainstorm.

Make "Nightmare" and "Hell" as endgame activities

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 01:34 PM PST

David Kim said they want feedback on how long it takes to get to level 40. End game is a big topic as well which is related.

I've always thought it was such a shame that main story/campaign parts of games end up being rushed through, as they are often the most well developed, deep and polished part of the game. The devs put so much time into fleshing out the world and its story, and I just keep thinking that instead of coming up with multiple games to add to the end of the word, that we should just slow down progression through the world.

David Kim said getting to level 40 is going to take a lot longer than max level in D3, which is great! How about "Normal" difficulty is the main story, your main playthrough - it takes a long time, and you should reach say level 30 (or even 40) by the end of it.

Then one you finish you have Keyed Dungeons, perhaps side quests yous can do that are worth doing (they have good drop tables like Ancient Tunnels, Pindleskin, The Pit etc) and perhaps one other end 'game' you can play/do. BUT you can also jump into Nightmare which is starting the world over from scratch but a higher difficulty.

Nightmare should be so difficult that most players struggle to get the end even if they have farmed other end game activities for a while.

Hell then could be this thing that is almost impossible to do.

This would mean that if you are a player not interested in the gimmicks of end 'games', and just wants to continue to immerse yourself in the world, you could do that as end game for a looooong time, and it would be meaningful because you are working through a set and consistent challenge - not just dialing up or down difficulty as you see fit or playing around with monster and dungeon modifiers, you are working your way through the world of Diablo

The Barbarian's Ground Stomp *sometimes* doesn't go off when pressing the key while Whirlwinding

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 02:34 AM PST

    Did anyone else notice this?

I've noticed it happening more while having speed pylon on.

Also, I think it happens often when I'm circling around in one spot just attacking 1 enemy or a tight pack of enemies.

I also think (?) it can be prevented by moving the mouse outside of the pack or something; actually just not having a target under the mouse I guess -- that's just my observation.

    Don't know if it's a bug or...

D4 hopefully Necro will be available at launch

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 10:34 PM PST

The necromancer has always been my favorite character. I heard from some leaks that he probably will be added in later (again sigh). Hopefully the devs will change their minds. Any other people that are with me on this?
