    HELP with stuttering (D3)

    Posted: 12 Nov 2020 12:29 PM PST

So bought the game for pc yesterday and have spent the entire time trying to fix a stuttering issue. Tried many MANY fixes dating right back to 2015 but nothing has worked so far. I get rock solid 144fps but every 10 seconds or so the game just hitches for a split second. Highly irritating. Tried vsync on and off and all other settings. Tried capping frame rate with rtss. Stutters still persist everywhere. Towns are the worst. Its like its constantly loading stuff in but the game is installed on an ssd. Any help what so ever would be mega appreciated because i love the game so far and just want to enjoy it. Also its fine when thers loads going on screen so its not a performance thing. Its just when i move around its like its loading the maps in tiny sections or something if that makes any sense? My specs are 1660ti i5900h 16gb RAM 144hz monitor and the games installed on ssd. Also i have great internet connection. Thanks.

Update: So i think i now know that the issue is the audio. Works perfectly with audio disabled completely but all available sound options cause stuttering.

Update 2: its not the sound lol. It just stutters a little less without sound enabled. Thanks so much to every one for all the replies tho, really appreciate the help guys, just wana play some diablo! All my other games working perfectly

    Season 22 Character

    Posted: 12 Nov 2020 06:44 PM PST

I just started playing diablo at the end of season 21. So far I've mainly played wizard but the set for Season 22 is typhons veil which I already own. Any recommendations for other classes I should try?

SP Hardcore Untwinked p8 Assassin Dtail+TS, will it work?

    Posted: 12 Nov 2020 07:58 AM PST

Does an untwinked assassin using primarily dtail + tiger strike can work in hardcore p8 hell ? I'm breezing through normal right now, but I know hell will be super hard because of the phys res and physical immunes...

I wonder if it's worth to max shadow warrior and Lightning sentry and let the warrior use LS (after forcing her to cast the synergies) to speed things up and deal with PI and FI.

Also related to skills, is it worth it to max Fade, given the DR it gives?

What are your thoughts? I'm lvl 30 on my way to council+meph, and right now I'm using a lot of gear with mf on it, I plan going for +skills on gear to boost warrior and sentry damage and my own, but I would appreciate all input! For now I'm using absolutely no mod, but I'm tempted by plugY because ladder items and runewords and the stash space

Edit: good explanations on the build can be found here and here

I need your opinions before I form my decision

    Posted: 12 Nov 2020 12:31 PM PST

This might be unanswerable at the present time but I'd like your thoughts.

I played d2/lod for more years than I care to admit, I absolutely loved it, then I moved onto d3 which had its ups and downs. I loved the community of d2, the trading, the external trading / pvp websites (d2jsp etc).

D3 was different, and definitely different on the console than the PC.

I am currently trying to decide whether to build a very decent gaming pc (3080 based) or get the new xbox with a very high end tv with gsync etc.

Do you think that diablo 4 will be cross platform to an extent where its the exact same game across the xbox and the pc like COD for instance, or do you think they'll be two completely different games like it is for the xbox one / ps4 vs pc? The console version of d3 is absolutely peppered with bugged items and it ruins the game, whereas the pc version seems to be a lot less 'fucked with'.

The only reason I'd be buying the pc over the console is for diablo when it finally comes out, but this wouldn't be necessary if its going to be the exact same game on both devices with cross platform. The only other games I play are first person shooters which I enjoy playing on a console too.

My Take on What they should do with Firebirds

    Posted: 12 Nov 2020 04:29 AM PST

2 piece – does not change.

4 piece – You have a flame aura that does 6000% weapon damage to enemies within 15 yards. Edit: Aura also reduces Damage by 60%.

6 piece – You now have wings made of fire. All fire Skills do 15000% more damage. You movement speed in increased to 75%. You autocast one of your equipped Fire skills every second.

4 piece is basically the Holy Fire Aura from the Paladin in Diablo 2.

6 piece you are a Fire Bird flitting all over the battle field burning your enemies and leaving chaos in your wake.

But what about the igniting of enemies? You can find it in the trashcan.

Edit: added Damage Reduction to 4p.
