I think its too bad if Lilith doesnt maintain the trailer look in the actual game. Its stunningly unique, she looks utterly alien and terrifying compared to the promotional art, where she looks more like a conventional diablo demon.

Current Fix for Diablo II 1.14d problems on Mac?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:56 AM PST

    Hey Diablos,

I thought it was a great idea to connect to battle.net and get the 1.14d update for Diablo II - LOD on my Mac (OSX Mojave). Oops. Did mac users ever figure out how to fix this and get the game up and running again? Please send me a link to a fix asap.

    Best,
    TJ

    Kormac the GRifting God

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:43 PM PST

I want to put Kormac's sword to the test and see how far he can push GRifts by himself. Did I miss anything?

Let us seek honor together, my friend.

    Sir William

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 09:22 AM PST

Hey guys! Farming away for the rainbow portrait, on my 547th run without any luck yet unfortunately. I just had a quick question cause I've seen some disagreement with my googling on the matter,

If other unique purples spawn, such as midnight sparkle, or the three unicorns, or tubbers, can sir William still spawn or do they take his spawn spot?

Ive done full clears so far, but I figured if that was something that could speed me up even more and help with my sanity, it would be good to know.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Belt and potion idea

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:58 AM PST

i propose a system in Diablo 4 that is a combination of Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 for the potion system that is tied directly into adding belts back into the game. I am not the biggest fan of the system that PoE uses in the sense that sometimes i dont want to fight in order fill up my potion use. its not a bad system but i think diablo 4 can do something better, something more.

In Diablo 2 as you acquired better quality belts you gained access to more potions to use. Belts also rolled with normal stat rolls so they were vital in building a character which is fine. In diablo 3 potions are on a cooldown and belts played no part in that. Belts are only there for stats. Waiting for a cooldown on a potion is not a fun gameplay mechanic to me. I feel that potions are a tool that our character has to use.

The system I am thinking of lets us find potions like in diablo 2 and diablo 4 and with varying potion sizes too if wanted, i.e. minor, normal, large, super etc. Belts would be a pure utility piece of equipment that affects only potions and potion effects. Taking diablo 2's system and expanding upon it. Example: A new character with no belt can use 1-2 potions within 5 seconds before a longer cooldown comes into play. But when a character gets a basic belt he/she can equip 4 potions that can be used in quick succesion before the cooldown happens. Higher quality belts could allow for more potion use. To me this plays on the fanstasy of taking potions out of your backpack and putting them on your belt for quick use. These potions dont need to be legendary or have special effects that is something the belts themselves can do. Quicksling belts that let you consume a number of potions without the short delay but only can equip 4 at late game. Or heavy belts that let you use 6 or 7 potions etc.

I think balancing potion use to belt type would a interesting way to do it. It lets players have the agency of using a potion as tool but within reason. Legendary belts with unique powers along with different types of belts that effect potion use.

    Thoughts?

    D3 WD issues

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:58 AM PST

Hi all, As a long time WD player who is fairly succesful given how succesful a WD can be in D3, I wanted to compile a list of things that I think could improve the whole D3 experience for Witch Doctor players.

Let's start with the first major issue: "WD is the least popular class in D3." I heard this many times. A lot of people think it is because of it's concept. I feel like it is wrong. I really think that WD is simply unpopular because playing WD feels so underpowered compared to other classes. It is a lot harder to play WD than most classes apart from Wizard maybe. Not because of it's mechanics, but because WD is insanely squishy. There is literally no way to further increase your toughness. GR90 a goatman will oneshot you with a spear with your full gear augments and 1000 paragon. You can grind 5k paragon and maybe survive 3 hits from a GR90 khazra, but it's still underwhelming. I strongly believe WD's popularity is so low because starting with WD is a handicap. You can't reach GR 140 with WD. Impossible. Even 10k paragon won't get you that.

I would like to bring up ideas under this topic, to improve the playability of this super fun class. If you don't look at the leaderboards then WD can be super fun. The chicken builds and all the stupid looking spells with bears and piranhas and all is really funny and the execution of the spells is really fluid. Unfortunately most of his spells don't do anything in higher GRs.

The main spells we use in any build are these: Haunt Locust Swarm Piranhas (almost only piranhado) Soul Harvest (every single build uses it, really boring) Horrify (Ocassionally for armor) Big bad voodoo (ocassionally) Pet skills Firebats Spined darts (literally the only primary you will ever use on WD) Wall of Death (Some Helltooth builds) Hex Angry Chicken (only for Manajuma) Spirit Barrage

The rest of the spells is kind of useless. Mass Confusion for example doesn't do anything in the game. I can't remember ever using it. Zombie charger? Doesn't do anything. Sacrifice? Also useless, no damage, dogs not sustainable. The whole character revolves around a few spells that you can combine and then you stick soul harvest on top because it is the only spell that increases your chances to survive the GR90 goatmen's wooden spears.

Some suggestions for spells: Rework Mass confusion, the charmed enemies deal no damage to each other, so in its current form it doesn't do anything. Make it a good support spell, put a buff on affected enemies so they take more damage, or move them somehow. Pile them up like ground stomp does. The knife that reduces cooldown on MC is also useless. Please rework the knife as well, or just remove it. Noone has ever used that knife.

Sacrifice Give 50% chance to respawn the dog that has been sacrificed and please rework the related items so that they give bigger multipliers on Sacrifice. Apply the Zunimassa bonus damage to sacrifice. Make the damage of sacrifice a Pet Damage. Would be a really cool trash killer build. Bombing the masses with the dogs.

Zombie charger Honestly I have no clue how this spell could be useful. The range the damage everything is so low it just doesn't do anything. There are no legendaries affecting it either. Might as well just rework it completely

Acid Cloud There is a stick that gives the Lob Blob rune to this spell. That's all the upgrades you can make on this spell. Please make it a massive aoe with low manacost and zero or really low cooldown and then at least it will be useable to trigger the Zuni bonus and we can change Haunt to this. I see no other use. Maybe it can be a support spell. All enemies affected would deal 50% less damage. Something like that. Or slow them down by 80% percent both move and attack speed?

Big Bad Voodoo Plese do something with it's cooldown. Its a good spell but there is always a better skill to put in the slot because the uptime on this is very low.

Grasp of Dead Could be a good spell, but the cooldown without the legendaries is too high. If you use the legendaries that improve this spell you will have no cooldown and no mana cost. The trouble is, this spell does no damage whatsoever. Maybe the new set will give it a bonus, however keep in mind that this spell is incredibly boring. You just put a patch on the ground and it damages and slows. Same goes for Wall of Death but at least Wall of Death looks good.

Primary skills Corpse spiders This spell is really cool. Looks amazing a lot of fun throwing a jar of spiders in someone's face. However there is only one legendary for this spell. The Spider Queen knife, which only give it a slow. Useless it is. Please put a multiplier on the damage. With Arachyr being so bad right now a multiplier on the knife could bring back the Arachyr with a spider build. Instead of the firebats we could rely on the damage of the Spiders.

Plague of Toads No set bonus on this. The only knife that affects it, does nothing but makes them explode twice. Not very good. I would like to see a Toad set coming up, where this skill and Hex gets used finally and I can flood everything with poisonous toads.

Firebomb I have no idea what to do with this. There is one legendary knife that makes it generate gorillions of mana. I don't see how this could be used.

Piranhado Please put a bigger range on this. This spell could be such a good supoort spell but it has no range. Barely affects the monsters standing on the side of the pool. I would love to see a full WD support build.

Items: Wormwood - Locust continously plagues enemies around you. Cool staff for Jade doc isn't it? Except that the range is very low and it procs rarely. A rework could be done, making it so that whenever you cast haunt enemies with 25 yards are plagued by locusts.

Shukranis Triumph - Spirit walk lasts until you attack or an enemy is within 30 yards Useless mojo. Noone ever used it. Please give it a completely new legendary affix. Or rework it so that spirit walk lasts until you deal damage. That way it could be used for some speed builds instead of Manajuma.

Suwong diviner - Acid Cloud gains the Lob Blob rune Well, the lob blob rune does absolutely nothing. I would suggest a rework, making acid cloud a zero cooldown increased area of affect spell that slows enemies or make them deal less damage. Again a step forward to finally have a support wd.

Anessazzi Edge - Zombie dogs stun enemies around them for 1.5 secobds when summoned Instead of this it could have damage reduction for every sacrificed dog 10% stacks up to 3 times.

Starmetal Kukri - Reduce the cooldown of Fetish Army and Big Bad Voodoo every time your fetishes deal damage. This knife is kinda useless too since enforcer makes the pets almost unkillable and Big Bad Voodoo in itself doesnt do much. Suggested rework, half the cooldown of Big Bad Voodoo and grant 30% damage reduction for allies standing in the BBV area.

Hwoj Wrap - Locust swarm also slows enemies by 80% Rework: Enemies affected by Locust swarm have their damage reduced by 20% and their movement speed slowed by 50%

Haunting Girdle - Haunt releases 1 extra spirit Rework: Haunt releases 1 extra spirit and has its damage increased 200%

Tiklandian Visage - Horrify causes you to fear and root around you for 8 seconds The funny thing is that Horrify already does that only for a shorter period. Rework: Horrified enemies take 20% more damage.

Homunculus - A zombie dog is summoned to your side every 2 seconds. Rework: A zombie dog is summoned to your side every time you kill 5 or more enemies with sacrifice.

Wilken's Reach - Grasp of the dead no longer has a cooldown Rework: Grasp fo the dead roots enemies for 4 seconds and does not have a cooldown anymore.

That's all that came to my mind for now. Please comment you ideas. I really would like to see a change with regards to WD-s playability, and his overall fun factor. I need to add that WD almost never had a place in 4 player parties. There was always a better choice. Let us have a season of the WD. Saders and Barbs had enough fun. New set, Sacrifice build ,Support WD thats all I'm asking for. :) Sorry for the novel.

(D4) Will using a controller on PC cause the UI to switch?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 01:04 AM PST

Apologies if this has been discussed at length somewhere else but I was thinking about this very thing a few weeks ago.

Currently, D3 is on both PC and Console but doesn't support controllers on PC as there are a few significant differences between the 2 builds of the game, however if I recall correctly during the D4 announcement it was confirmed that PC D4 will support controllers.

Which ultimately got me thinking: Will plugging in a controller cause the UI to swap from PC-orientated to Console-orientated?

If so, that would be pretty neat.
