Have never played diablo games, thinking on getting diablo 3 Posted: 26 Dec 2019 05:44 PM PST Is it a good game? Will I like it? I play mostly FPS and few rpg games. Is it worth getting this game? If the first part is boring, how long do I have to play to get to the "interesting" parts? Edit: thanks for the advice guys! Someone said the first part was available for free on the blizzard launcher and tried it and so far I'm liking it! I chose barbarian but if you guys have better suggestions let me know! What changes that will (probably) never happen would you like to see in Diablo 4? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 12:34 PM PST What I'd most want to see could be that all classes should go back to using mana. I can suspend my disbelief when I use mana as a resource since we don't have any equivalent in our world, but when you start calling it rage or focus that is thrown out of the window. One thing that might happen but probably won't would be barbarians being able to wield 2h weapons in one hand. Is was such a big part of the class identity in Diablo 2 and I was really disappointed when I found out that they removed it in 3. [link] [comments] |

Diablo IV - Bring importance of every tier of a rarity - Feedback Posted: 26 Dec 2019 06:26 PM PST Hi I would like to see those different rarities bring different affixes, so you have one pool of affixes for blue items and another pool of affixes for Yellow. Same for legendaries and sets too, this would bring the importance of every tier of a rarity, so no items will be obsolete. This would also bring more depth for those really hardcore players that want to go deep into the item game and the more casual could stick to only legendaries/sets or rares. so the "Easy to learn, Hard to master" philosophy gets addressed. Use White/Grey (common) items for the "real" runewords, so that white or Grey items are the requirements for a runeword and have the current system with one condition rune and an effect rune for anything that is not White or Grey, but add depth to it so it not gets shallow. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 12:15 PM PST Just looking for a basic D2 LoD mod with customizable drop rates and free respec (or costs gold). It can also have other items tweaks, skill changes or additions, as long as it's still mostly LoD. (So no big mods like Eastern Sun etc) Some friendsand I are looking to play D2 again, but without learning meta and much less grinding.. bc we don't have time for that lol [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Dec 2019 12:52 AM PST I mainly played D3 in 2013-2014 where Paragon 100 was max level and MP10 the highest difficulty. Endgame was the same 3-4 routes, sometimes you farmed keys for the hellfire Ring, you progressed maybe 1 Paragon level a day towards the higher paragons, if you played for a few hours. Doing so, you probably found 1-2 legendaries per hour. Even with bis gear at max difficulty it took a few hits to kill the mobs. At the end, you checked your auction for that rare sword with life steal. Life is chill. I picked up D3 again, got to 70. 2 hours after I dinged 70, I had the entire starter set, all the necessary cube items and legendary powers and did 100b crits spamming multishot and vault. I could clear the highest difficulty oneshotting 2 hours after I dinged 70. With a healthpool of 1 million. This is 3 hours after my biggest crit was 30k. What even is a primal ancient legendary. Why are there 10 legendaries in my inventory after a 2 minute grift. Let's join a public game. I can solo grift 80 solo easily, so let's see. They opened a 100. I barely even move their hp bars. What even is going on. Why are these people paragon 1200. Why am I dinging every 10 seconds at paragon couple hundred whatever. Every progress seems irrelevant, since there will always be content that makes you feel powerless and there are certain breakpoints which make you scale by factors of 100000. So what even is the point [link] [comments] |
Potential idea for martial skill damage vs spell damage. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:23 PM PST One of my biggest gripes with D3 is the weapon system and how your weapon hardly translates into any meaningful gameplay changes. For example, wielding an enormous mace as a petite sorceress or a hunched over witch doctor might be my best option for DPS. While my character never once swings the weapon they use it I guess to "channel their spells?" I think this is such a boring and lame excuse for not having a more fleshed out itemization system. An idea for D4 could be each weapon having both a martial damage value and a magic/arcane damage value. This value would be determined by what kind of weapon it was, I.e. sledgehammers would lean more physical and wands would be more arcane focused. Then you could have some classes/builds use weapons that balance the two stats using weapons such as staves, staffs, and scepters. Then class skills could say in their description whether they scale with physical or arcane damage. So maybe barbarian and archery skills will scale with physical damage while caster and elemental skills scale with arcane damage. Just a thought [link] [comments] |
[RoS SPOILERS] My favorite line in the game Posted: 26 Dec 2019 07:39 PM PST If you're a necromancer, when you discover Malthael's plan, your character says "A lesser race playing with magic he can't understand" And that just made me shiver, it really shows how The Nephalem is slowly becoming more selfish and proud, which will eventually lead into their downfall in D:IV [link] [comments] |
I got a primal fortress ballista and am super impressed with the Unhallowed Essence Grenade build Posted: 25 Dec 2019 09:58 PM PST Primal fortress ballista. Felt like a waste, nope. This + dawn + depth diggers + hellcat + simplicity's strength + cubed RORG + endless walk and UE 5 piece (6) and I'm having a blast. Rips T16. Looking forward to seeing how far i can take it. Will report back soon. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Dec 2019 06:27 PM PST Do you think, Blizzard is reading all that stuff here? I am writing in the diablo3 forum because Blizzard told us to drop our feedback there. But do you think, they are even checking other sources like Reddit, Twitter or YouTube? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:32 PM PST This may have been request before but here's some ideas Could we have a ladder that only allows a characters to play X amount of hours a week say 5. Not sure if a season or regular model would be best here or perhaps both. This could give players without a lot of free time a fun area to compete against others? Also this would discourage botters out grinding the real players. This type of ladder would not appeal to the to the botters like the unlimited playtime ladders. Also you could introduce game mechanics that would not leverage botters such as game captcha of sorts. Example choose the three chests you see in this cave type thing. There probably is fair number of players that would endure a captcha to keep botting down. I doubt if botters will every seriously get banned since they prop up the player base numbers for investors... but we can dream. With current ML a bot Turing test would seem to be easy combined with log analytics. [link] [comments] |

Should there be leaderboards in Diablo 4? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:30 AM PST When D4 was announced, one thing that many people were asking about are leaderboards. Keystone Dungeons: Will there be leaderboards? PvP: Will there be leaderboards? Should there be leaderboards in the game? I feel like a focus on leaderboards is not healthy and it made D3 worse in the long run. I think this genre is best when it doesn't push a competitive scene and stays casual. The same for pvp. Not every game has to be an esports game. Ain't nothing wrong with just having some casual fun in pvp. Sure, you could always just ignore them, but I feel like simply the existence of leaderboards already changes the way how people look at a game. It changes their playstyle and it changes the way devs make the game. I'm curious what your opinion about this is. Do leaderboards make the game better or worse? Would you lose interest in playing the game if there are no rankings? Do you think it's possible to find a healthy balance where the devs give features to support the competitive side without it completely taking over and "becoming" the game? [link] [comments] |
Attributes in D4 and customization Posted: 26 Dec 2019 05:05 AM PST Hi there, I've been reading some discussions about how attributes were implemented in Diablo 3, pros and cons respecting to D2 system, and whether or not the feeling of customization of D2 was real. If I'm right, this system has the peculiarity of not being only defined by itemization or skills. Your character have some defined attributed, which will later interact somehow with the rest of the systems (conditioning the gear you can equip, increasing your damage, etc). You can later increase those through your gear, but the base numbers are independent. My personal opinion is that the attributes system should be made relevant first, so customizable attributes would make sense. Maybe making them less dependent of the gear, but impactful on the affixes and stats granted by them. The system recently introduced - celestial, angelic and demonic power - have a lot of similarities with an attribute system, since the performance of all the gear is strongly dependent on those stats. Thing is, in this case, those attributes also deppend on gear (since they've been introduced to make a deeper and more complex itemization). So, what if we could have a system as impactful for attributes? What if a character's strength could unlock new legendary powers on certain items, instead of just increase %damage? Or if elemental resistances were capped based on our intelligence? Just giving some examples, but TLDR I think the attribute system should be redesigned in such a way that customizing attributes makes sense, and is not a false illusion of customization. D3 QOL - why aren't shields displayed on top of the health globe graphically (PoE style)? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 07:53 AM PST I'm really perplexed by this. Shields aren't as big a deal in D3 as in PoE but for some builds they are pretty substantial. I play a wizard on HC and I sometimes use Galvanizing Ward and those bracers that double your shields, as well as the Lgem with the shields (whatever all of these are called). I end up with a play style that's really dependent on shields and shield regen timing. It's impossible to track them in real time as they can only be seen by hovering over the hp globe. There's probably a gameplay option I can tick somewhere to always have the numbers up, but how hard would it be to add a little overlay for your shields on top of the hp globe? [link] [comments] |
are paragons and seasons a result of lacking content? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 12:14 AM PST to me it feels like, paragon points are just trying to compensate that there is no actual content in the game. players want to level up faster, get more loot, have more damage, get supported by vendors and crafting to get their BiS gear in hours, players can play every single build with just 1 character, players get bored. blizz: "hmmmmm ;/ we should give them something, they will NEVER get finished, hahahaahha and also they have to start a new character to play every new content." shouldn't we go back to, where things took some time? where you had to create a new character when you wanted to play something else? where max level was some accomplishment? you dont have to be forced to start a new character in a new season when there is actually some need of multiple characters. to me feels like, there is no actual content for players to dive into, so blizz just goes like "ok bud, now you make a new char and do this and now you do that, having fun yea?...here, take some +5, good yea?" i usually create a few charactersin every game. they have a name, a story, a fighting style. when i see streamers now, their characters are like "season15slave2" missing the point of "role playing game" a bit, huh? there could be so much to do with existing characters. take mmorpgs as an example if you want to get inspired by them anyway. pvp events, housing, alchemy, crafting and IF you want, rebirth system. but just starting a new character...because you HAVE TO? and endlessly leveling for no reason because you HAVE TO, to keep up with the also endlessly leveling enemies? that sounds a lot like "we are out of ideas...heeelp us!" am i speaking for you guys if i say "we WILL help you"? :) [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:56 AM PST Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm at a loss. Last night my gf and I could connect with a mutual friend to play D3 with myself hosting, her switch (on same home network) connecting and friend connecting. This morning, my gf has had to travel so we tried to connect via phone hotspot, and this is where the weirdness begins. I can connect to Mutual friend, and mutual friend can connect to me, but I can't connect to gf on hotspot. GF can connect to mutual friend, and mutual friend can connect to gf, but she can't connect to me. BOTH myself and gf can connect, at the same time, to mutual friend, and play just fine. Anyone got any ideas what's blocking her and I directly connecting to each other? Only difference from last night is she's on Mobile hotspot. EDIT: Tested with MHGU's online, same settings, we can connect to each other directly. Not sure why Diablo won't. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:42 AM PST My first Diablo game was D3, some folks don't like it compared to the older games though I thought it was fun. But since D4 is going to be more like the older games, with skill trees and the old rune system (stuff I haven't experienced in the series yet) I just thought I'd ask what maybe to expect? Since I'm technically a Diablo series noob. I'm reading up on D4 & will look up how D2 was in the past to maybe get a feel for how the new Diablo 4 will be but any advice or wisdom you might have would be great :3 [link] [comments] |
