    diablo3 on PS4 or Switch

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 10:27 PM PST

hi i was playing this game when it first came out on PC, then it burnt my Mac Air's battery so i changed to PS4, but i noticed on ladder after a few days if you are a startup it's almost impossible to find matchmaking. so i am wondering how active is this game on PS4 compared to Switch cause i have both consoles, but did not purchase D3 for Switch yet. p.s. i dont have any friends that plays this game anymore so i am all alone, that's why coop is important for me. I'm not so into single player games.

    TIFU

Diablo is my pot. It mellows me out after a frustrating session of competitive gaming (e.g. Rocket League). I just throw Hulu on the second monitor, Diablo 3 on the first, then zone out and kill some monsters - it's great. Because I really only play D3 for this reason, I hardly ever do multiplayer.

I rolled a hardcore toon for the first time ever this season, and was doing well with her (PoJ Monk). Pushing GR85 with ease, an accomplishment for a filthy casul like me.

So here I am watching Game of Thrones from the start, playing some Diablo 3. I get to the part in the second or third episode where they have to kill the dire wolf puppy, and I can't watch that shit so I hit escape to pause the game so I can skip to the next episode. I click Next Episode, wait for it to load, click Skip (to skip the HBO previews), wait for the intro to load, hit Skip again to skip the intro - then I look back over at my game and my toon was dead. My heart stopped in my chest for a good 10 seconds, and once it started beating again I realized how I fucked up.

I totally forgot that I was doing bounties, which is the ONLY thing I do multiplayer with. Hitting escape in a multiplayer game in fact does not pause the game. So there I was, sitting in act 1, looking at the corpse of my 30+ hour toon - and standing over it was one zombie. One. Fucking. Regular. Trash. Zombie. Sitting there, smiling at me and his accomplishment.

    Difference non-expansion and expansion character

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 09:10 AM PST

What are the concrete differences between playing an expansion and non-expansion character?

Obviously Act 5, rune words and some items (although a list of this would be nice to have), but I am more wondering about stuff like skill changes and patches.

For example Kripparian mentioned in this video that whirlwind behaves differently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0Zj8-jjcvU&t=30s

This behaviour seems to not be documented anywhere in the game, so where can I find it? Same goes for damage numbers or synergies. At least those I could find out, but it would be quite tedious to do so.

Also, as Kripp is playing on 1.13 in the video, I guess the newest patch did not change anything relevant in vanilla since LoD came out?

Can’t do monk set dungeon with the season reward set?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 01:11 PM PST

Do I need to track down another set of armor to complete the dungeon? I'm so confused. It's the last thing I need to complete the slayer quests. Any help is appreciated.

How to create an awesome engaging endgame for Diablo 4 with the already existing factions of the Diablo universe

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 07:13 AM PST

There are already factions in the Diablo universe Might as well take full benefit from it to enrich the game and its endgame I dream of a Diablo 4 where the developers have the brains to actually make us choose a side Follow Lilith and become a Demon Save and follow Inarius to become an Harbinger of Light Follow Rathma and fight for humanity against Hell and Heavens meddling with sanctuary

    ———————————-

In the end each in the same outcome, Lilith's death. If you side with her you still kill her becauseshe manipulate and backstabs you since she's the mother of deceit. This story system will allow people to choose factions and become Demons, angels and Ancients themselves

    ——————————

This will have major repercussion on the endgame The endgame could partly be composed of faction citadels raiding Lore: Heaven and Hell factions are actively seeking for worldstone shards. There will be places on the map where there are worldstone shard Veins. These Wss rich spots are where factions can claim the area by building and growing a citadel/fortress on the Wss These citadel/fortress generate a buff for faction members in said area Members of the opposing faction have to try to take possession of the spot. Note: Ancients don't have citadels, they instead try to destroy them all and get temporary buff for successful individual invasions Those citadel/fortress are simply insane dungeons full of monsters, they controlled and funded by players of this faction. By controlled I mean simple stuff that players can decide where to allocate the ressources, ie: area buff improvement, defending mobs improvements, infrastructure reinforcement, merchands, the power of the dungeon boss( from sub demons to prime evils)etc. This management can be pretty simple and straightforward with a simple choice of "choose one of these 5 departments where your Points go", there could also be a more in-depth management that would be controlled by an elected player ie: Fortress leader, so that people less keen to management can just kill monsters without thinking much while this guy takes the fortress decisions

There could be a way to implement players vs players to this by maybe having them called to defend the Citadel as Final boss. Facing this final player boss would be optional but if chosen and successful could grant more points toward conquering the Wss spot. Stealing a fortress would require a couple of successful invasions There would be a gauge bar that shows the progression of a takeover On the other hand, defending your fortress is the same thing but the other way. Players can run the same dungeon but instead of having its faction monsters, it's the other faction monsters So each party benefit on all sides, fortress owners get perks and buffs while fortress conquerors get better loot and xp from mobs Note: this is just a global idea, nothing is set in stone, improvements and changes to the concept can be brought up

This would have the result of extending the game's storyline rather than just "congrats you competed the game, now do endless monotone grind"

There would also be quests and events related to those factions fortresses. I can imagine An event where Diablo spawns for some reasons and the first factions to kill it captures him

    ——————

Done well this could be an awesome replacement for Rifts and Maps(Poe) with the plus side of being Lore logical and create some sort of community interaction, I can easily see guilds focussing on certain fortresses to defend and grow and on the other hand some guilds having those impenetrable fortresses to conquer. This would also keep the traditional dungeon grinding aspect of Arpg endgame But ultimately this would be a part of the endgame, not the whole endgame since I think it should be diversified for all tastes of gameplay

    issue with d3 multiboxed

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 04:25 AM PST

So, I multibox Diablo 3 when i get bored and this season, and only this season so far, I've started having issues with long load times on the second game thats opened, it will say not responding while loading and when I load in the items and things in my inventory take a few to load and show up.

first copy of the game is 100% fine. All settings are the same as how I used to do it and still having issues.

gpu is about 40% usage under load from both games. cpu is like 30%. Kinda baffled here. All settings in nvidia were tweaked to be for high performance. Any thoughts? Even if I launch the second game solo it still does it. Trying to figure out why the second game would be causing this?
